I have been a customer for many years. Not anymore. I paid £7:55 tonight for haddock and chips which was the worst I have ever had in 70 years. The fish was about 8 inches by 1.5 inches by 1 inch?and in two pieces. The texture was coarse and certainly not haddock texture. Taste was salty ( I didn't have salt or vinegar)and reminiscent of rock salmon, not so tasty. The chips were just about OK. I tried to raise a question/ comment on their page but it didn't work.

Don't lick your fingers if you're serving food, it's dirty. I saw a guy putting (curry?) sauce into pots and then sucking the drips off of his fingers before putting the lids on, transferring bacteria from his mouth to the containers. It was a young man with gingery brown hair. I won't be going back.

After a welcoming hello frown from the miserable staff I quickly placed my order of 2 cod, 1 large chips, a fish cake and a pea fritter. I kept an eye on the server throughout because frankly I was concerned she might throw herself in the frier at any moment to get away from a job that she clearly despised. Got the food quickly... for that I award 1 star. The other star is because they are open on a sunday. Once home I discover a pea fritter that was over done and probably been sat in the heat lamps all day. 2 cod, 1 of which was was about the size of a small sausage and I'm not convinced was actually cod at all. And a portion of chips that would feed the 5000, providing they each had a stomach the size of a mosquito. All in all, over priced, ridiculous portions and poor quality, and service to round off the disappointment that was my families dinner. Good job I have a fridge full of cheese.

Won’t be using again, got home to find only one of the 3 chips had been included, went back and insisted they replaced the whole meal as remainder now cold. This time they forgot the fish. Not cheap and incompetent. A complete waste of £24 and a rare treat we had been looking forward to was a real disappointment.

Most importantly the food was fine but I felt it was a bit expensive and they didn't offer any size options - no large or small chips just one regular size for £1.80. The same applies to the cod, just one size. The service was rude from one member of staff who was slow and complained about needing a break while we waited a long time for our fish and chips. The packaging of the fish and chips weren't great either, put into a bag where all the chips got stuck in the corners. In the end the food was ok I just felt it cost more than other fish and chip shops and the experience here was not worth it. I'm used to a much quicker and friendly service elsewhere.
