A lovely meal in a very friendly and clean pub. My family and I visited the Bayhorse last Saturday. The pub was very busy and there was a nice atmosphere, we were quickly shown to our table and served drinks very quickly. The menu is varied and a huge choice. Everyone's food was served in a timely fashion and all meals were served at the same time, so no awkward waiting. The food was hot and very well present. Everyone was very happy with their food and all in all it was a lovely evening with great food, great service and very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended
Where do I begin?? When we checked in, we were quite impressed with the room. We decided it seemed nice, so we booked an extra night...BIG MISTAKE!!! However, the next day, on returning after 15h00, we found that the duvet had been pulled roughly over the pillows and a new toilet roll in the bathroom. Other than that, NOTHING else was done. Dirty cups and glasses were left, and coffee, teabags, milk, and sugar were not replenished. We had to go to reception to ask for more. Nobody was at reception, but you could ring a bell where somebody from the pub would come and assist you. When we complained about the room not being done, we were told that if you stayed more than one day, the room was just done roughly and not cleaned thoroughly. And this is from a supposed 4-star hotel! I have stayed in 2-5 Star hotels around the world, and I can honestly say this has NEVER happened in all the years I have travelled!
The rooms were really nice and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was filling and tasty. We will definitely book again when we next go to Haydock races.
I was actually pretty impressed by the Bay Horse. Think it must have had a refit recently. Because it used to be a bit of a dump. Rooms were modest yet clean & comfortable and had everything you'd neednThe breakfast continental selection wasn't extensive. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was freshly prepared and very tasty. Better than the pile of pre cooked eggs under a heat lamp, like most budget hotels.
Stayed one night ,loved it ,food and drink was brilliant, staff were very friendly. Rooms were spotless. Defo going again
