Very friendly, helpful family that run the b&b. Very clean, comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast with good service. Would definitely visit again
Nice enough. Bare bones room, but I was only an overnight visitor so this didn't bother me too much. Staff was friendly. En suite room was greatly appreciated and the shower was okay, though it was initially extremely hot, it cooled down after a minute or two. I didn't stay for food, so can't review that.
You know those times when you stay somewhere and think, "wow there's not a thing wrong with this place"? Well, this is the polar opposite. There's not a single thing RIGHT with it. Unbelievably rude staff, dark, dingy and small rooms which are all extortiantely priced, and a foul smell throughout the building. Don't pay to stay here, don't even stay here for free. If I had to choose between this place and a street corner, I'd ask you to point me to the nearest doorway and grab my sleeping bag. The bottom line? Utterly abysmal. 1/5 does not allow me to rate this place lowly enough to express my experience here. Avoid at all costs.
Service was good and the staff were friendly. On the other hand there was quite a bit of dust and muck around the room, not to mention a tiny shower and an offish smell. Decent folks but the room could have perhaps been better.
Stayed this saturday night, last minute booking for a night out in leeds. Really lovely family that run this bnb. Yes its not the most modern but the service they gave us was excellent. Lovely cooked breakfast and kept the tea n coffee flowing, nothing was too much, couldnt have got better treatment in a 5*. Would definitely go back.
Can't say much about the hotel apart from when we got there earlier than expected that let us check in and arranged for a taxi to take us to the town. We had a lovely day in the town till my granddaughter was taken ill so had to go on returning to the hotel told the gentleman in charge and he promptly said I will give you most of you money back and said he would have to keep £20 which I was most happy about so I will return to see this lovely couple
At 00.33 I should really be sleeping but I am having to sit here to write this. I'm hoping that by putting this review out there, someone else wont have to go through what I went through. I checked into this rat-hole the previous night. I was happy to have a place a lay my head having realised that most hotels were fully booked that night. I paid £30.00 for what appears to be a hencoop but soon realised that the heating in the room was not working. When I complained to the rather timid staff, I was told the heaters come on in the afternoons and go off during the night which explanation I accepted. Next day I went about my business and returned round about 22:00 to find a freezing cold room. There was no member of staff to report to...only a number. When I called the number, the middle-aged man to whom I paid the money told me blatantly that THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO and that I MUST MANAGE TO SLEEP IN THE FREEZING COLD room. When I asked to speak to the manager, the rude and uncultured idiot told me the manager was not available and that I must stop disturbing him. Knowing both GLENGARTH AND AVALON are both owned by the same people, I walked up to Glengarth a 2 minute walk and only when I threatened to call the police did they finally agree to refund my money. This is perhaps the worse experience I have ever had in 21st Century Britain and I will advise anyone considering using this rat-hole to beware. Not everything which appears cheap is indeed cheap. The 50-something year old man in that building needs to go back to whichever country he comes from as he hasn't grasped the quintessential English values of courtesy and respect ! I WILL NEVER EVER USE THIS RAT-HOLE EVER AGAIN ! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
More like a hostel. Shabby, not maintained well, dusty. A step back in time to the 80s. On arrival it smelled like an Indian takeaway. Good location. Air bnb next time.
Great value, rooms clean and breakfast ok, no offer of a cooked breakfast as shown in web-site pictures. Just a walk to the centre, ideal for our visit
Really nice staff who are very friendly and I'm really enjoying my stay at the guest house up until now and would recommend it to other possible clients in the Leeds area.
