Staff are lovely, dealt with a concern me and my partner had quickly and even offered to swap our room even though it was totally unessesary. The place is very close to the A1 but the windows when shut block out the noise. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed on clean sheets. The bathroom has a floor mat and towels for your use although a little bit small. The shower was excellent very powerful and would get very hot if you wanted it to. The parking can get very busy but there are spaces round the back of the hotel to use for free. Over all I would stay here again as it is cheap and good value for the money.
+ The room is fairly large, such that two big suitcases can easily lie down open and there is still space to walk around. They offer free WIFI connection and you're on a motorway-like road in no time. - Hotel did change its name between the time we booked and arrived and they didn't even feel the need to notify us in any way. Address of the hotel given in the confirmation email leads to a different house further down the road, so we were quite puzzled. After spending some time in the car googling, we figured out where we actually had to go... - Room was very warm, no AC available, no fan available and windows can open only up to ~5cm 1st floor, resulting in a warm, muggy room. Even open windows result in noisy room from the rather heavily used A494, but of course that's what you know when booking this hotel. Mattress should be renewed as it's rather like lying on a parabola. Toilet seat is not really mounted to the toilet as it's sliding around on the toilet. Carpet looks like a hard party has been taken place, many stains and spots. - Additionally, watch out as you'd like to have dinner at the hotels restaurant: You need to book a table beforehand. We wanted to have supper and call it a night, but as soon as we sat down at one of many tables available we were asked if we booked a table and if not that our order cannot be taken within the next 30min. Why? We don't know, it was not crowded nor empty and we were only the two of us on top... Anyway, this policy would be fine if you knew about it. If anyone asked us to book a table beforehand we'd be happy to do so, but getting informed about this while sitting down is inappropriate customers treatment.
It was definitely an average hotel and I think I was expecting more. I do believe the price is higher than it was worth but I suppose that's due to its location and proximity to the motorways. My expectations will probably set hire by the website when I thought it was a hotel and what I really got was a motel. Having said all of that a perfectly clean and good place to stay where the meals are edible and the beds are clean. You could do worse
The check in was fine and the staff helpful. When we entered our family room, we noticed one of the taps was missing a handle, there was a hole in the shower tube and when trying to call reception, the phone was dead. We requested a new room and was swiftly changed to a double room. The staff were again helpful with our request. The new room was better. The only downside was no air con as the room was warm.
We stayed 2 nights 9/10 July. The room was tired and in need of a good overhaul. sink was leaking. Spare pillows in the wardrobe did not have pillow cases and were very sweat stained. After the first night the bed was not made and hospitality tray was not replenished nor were the cups washed. Clean towels were left. The room was very hot, no fan was provided, and we had to keep windows closed because of excessive traffic noise on the very busy road.
Location is great for those wishing to drive to either Chester or North Wales for one of the many fantastic attractions in the area. The hotel was very clean, staff were lovely and the breakfast and dinner very good. Additionally the hotel grants access to an array of leisure facilities such as a gym, pool, Jacuzzi and steam room/sauna. The hotel is very near an excellent Indian restaurant too the Amantola if you wish to go out for a meal.
Pretty much what you'd expect for a hotel in this price range. My family room was well furnished and clean, with a tv and direct phone through to reception. The bathroom was adequate with stocked soap dispensers and towels. I was disappointed to find that there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room, which I'd normally expect in this type of establishment. The door into my room was slightly faulty and took bit of fiddling around to get it to open and close properly. Breakfast was pretty basic. Self service which means by the time you've queued for the various items and got it back to your table, it's virtually stone cold. However it's pretty much all you can eat so can't complain too much. As for the area itself. It's Deeside, not the French Riviera. Expect lovely views of the dual carriageway and surrounding industrial parks and building sites. There is an Irish pub over the road which seems friendly enough if you want a proper bar that serves more than Carlsberg and Tetleys. I wouldn't rush back here but if you need somewhere in the area I expect you could do a lot worse.
Stayed here after a Groupon deal popped up. It's a nice little hotel, rooms remind me of travelodge although the beds arent as comfortable. The leisure facilities included in our stay are a nice touch although the jacuzzi our favourite part obviously is a little small and gives off air that makes your eyes sting, not quite sure why. Breakfast was included in our deal also and I can't fault that, the eggs were some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. In fact the only reason why I haven't rated this hotel a 5 is because the staff all seem a little awkward to talk to so far, makes me feel a little uncomfortable. They're great staff and one even bent a rule to help me out it just all seems a bit awkward. Anyway if you have business in the area or are considering the Groupon deal with included blue planet tickets, it's well worth the stay.
Room has been modernised.Shower didnt work but moved us straight away and gave us drinks voucher. Apple parking. nice pool and Jacuzzi. Good location for bike rides. Friendly staff.
It's smaller than I thought but it was a good size especially since I had 2 under 5s. Rooms were bit tight. Food wasn't great but overall experience was ok. Not many halal places to eat so I struggled. Asda blue planet aquarium evrything local within few miles
