Loved loved this place. I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend. We got a student discount so our room was only £70/night !!. Such a good price and while breakfast is a bit bare, it’s free so no complaints. They have a restaurant that served lunch and dinner, and while the food isn’t incredible, it’s fresh and good, and we decided to eat there instead of going to nearby restaurants.nnThe library and lounge are wonderful to read/write/work in. It’s a beautiful place to stroll out. Only a 7 minute walk from the train station. The staff is so sweet.nnWill definitely come back.
Everything about this place is idyllic. Remarkable hospitality and the library is a treasure for quiet and contemplation. From walking the grounds of the library to the paths through the graveyard at the church next door to morning prayer to meals and fellowship and spaces to read and write - absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the affordable accommodations.
Such a privilege to be able to spend time reading in the lovely surrounds of Gladstone's Library. The room was perfectly adequate although my 6ft4 husband struggled with the shower, but everything else was superlative - beautiful building, lovely food, delightful friendly service, the most relaxing place ever, and Hawarden village and the estate were very sweet.
A tranquilizing unique experience of staying in a library surrounded by books. A place to pause from a busy world and recharge with wisdom and self exploration.nBoard of books and the 1800’s vibe is depressing? No problem! Chester offers various activities such as wall climbing, driving range gulf for rubbish weathers and regular courses too, and plenty of odd museums Sick of Death is an example.nnUK countryside has always been rewarding and an escape of life hectic hustles.
We had a wonderful time at the library. We have been planning to go for some time and made it on our trip to Europe. It was a magical stay. The mid century modern decor of the rooms was beautiful. They were large rooms, with a sitting room, bedroom, and the largest bathroom I've seen in a place. The view from the room was perfect. The library was well taken care of and the restaurant was a nice thing to have. We loved dining here for lunch, dinner, and the included breakfast. Everything was well seasoned, thoughtful, and well priced. Service was fantastic throughout our visit. This is a must visit place to stay and dine.
