Flat Rock Bistro

Yummylicious lunch at The Flat Rock Bistro. A special treat for my lads birthday. They're all lightweights, because I'm the only one to manage the pud 😀 I shall be looking out for other things that deserve a special treat,so we can come back 😀 Great service and great food. Very good value for money ☺

Highly recommend Flat rock. I took my wife out there yesterday for her birthday for a romantic meal. The room had a nice atmosphere with low level lighting and comfortable seating and classy decor. The service was top rate and we really felt like VIPs. The food was very good and surprisingly large portions. Couldn't even finish it all and have room for pudding. We'll be eating there again.

Good location. Shame about the food. Inappropriate vegetables served with main course. Fruit crumble (not quite done correctly) got served with custard!!!!! (not cream). Suspect the coffee is instant and not even basic "real" - never mind the different modern variants on "real". So there was plenty of it - but that was the only thing right about it. Old-fashioned/badly done. So no I won't be eating there again. Shame to have such a good location wasted. All 5 of us in the party felt the meal left something to be desired. Management subsequently stated in response to Trip Advisor that it was quite clear on the menu what the pudding accompaniment was - and that is not the case, as I still have the "Christmas Party" menu there on my emails and no accompaniment is stated at all (hence assuming that, of course, it would be cream).

Had a beef madras straight from microwave, rice so dry couldn't swallow it, the meat was served dry no sauce .Have been here many times before but the meals on the 1st March were very poor.
