The food here was excellent for our visit for a party of 5. Staff are friendly and helpful and gave great service. Phoned up to book a table on the day without issue. Location is beautiful with plenty of parking outside.
My wife and I had a meal here on 10th July 2024 and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, attentive without being intrusive and a credit to themselves and the business.nThe service was prompt and efficient and the surroundings were modern and comfortable.nThe food was exceptional, from the starters to the desserts, via main courses which I highly recommend, it was colourful, flavourful and well presented.nMy wife had the Stuffed Mushrooms, which she said were the best she's ever had and I tried the Pork Belly which was served in a honey sauce... I'd still be there eating this as I didn't want the experience to end, it was magnificent.nWe both had the Linguine Vongole which was prawns, queen scallops, clam meat served garnished with clam shells in a tomato based sauce, it was fantastic.nWe finished up with the chocolate pudding, my wife having it with cream and ice cream while I had it with just custard some of us know our limits, dear and it did not disappoint.nWe both had drinks, my wife choosing a glass of Pieno Sud white wine while I had lemonade and lime.nOverall the meal which cost a total of £75.20 was excellent value and if we were not returning to Scotland soon we would make dining at La Calabria a regular experience.nThank you to all the staff for making our evening such a pleasant experience and we heartily recommend this gem to all who find it. Wonderful food, attentive service, great attention to detail particularly sensitive to GF allergies and bent over backwards to ensure safety of all diners.
Turned up at venue initially unsure it was correct place. A nice signpost by the entrance to car park would be a good idea. Were first in at 6pm. Shown to our table by the chef/owner.nWaiter came and took drink order. I do wish they would lose the mask though as it makes hearing harder for me. Had a nice lager and went for olives and bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Tasty warm bread. Then had a quality main meal of Pork steak. Loved the italian music in background including the theme to the Godfather. Great location with lovely photos on wall of Calabria. Nice atmosphere good company and service as expected although could have been more warm which i think is due to that sodding mask.nWill definitely return.
Was an excellent meal could not fault the food at all, the place can get filled up very quick and servers do seem to handle the amount of people very well, we did have some confusion and did not know you have to pay for the bill at the entrance so we did wait around for a while but still fantastic, paid £60 for two meals with added extras.
