It lives up to the hype. Food tasted amazing both times I visited. Portion sizes are quite large and filling.

In fairness, young staff pleasant and food/drink offerings fine even if price a little inflated....My gripe is this isn't a community establishment, but reliant on visitors at weekends...I try to use during the week but am exacerbated by the schizophrenic attitude towards my little dog...some days, he's welcome and made a fuss of only to be denied entry 24 hrs later. I can understand busy periods but not 12:30 on a Monday afternoon...Have a policy and apply it, probably the only dog unfriendly pub in town not a detached manager on her laptop in a corner completely disinterested in any operational matters....and be part of Leam, not a Corporate scavenger.
So glad the doormen were there as the steps in were slightly higher than expecting, inside is set out really good plenty of places to sit inside and out, the place had a vibe and buzz about it. Good choice of drinks ale's, lager, ciders and cocktails. For me I had an exceptionally good pint, was poured to perfection. The young barlady knew how to pull a pint fair play to her, noticed the food was being served up quickly around at the tables, we didn't eat thou.
