Started going to Aaron's spin classes here and it's great. Brilliant gym, doesnt seem too busy and the staff are always on hand to help. Fantastic range of classes and trainers. Love this gym.
The gym itself is a reasonable gym with some good equipment. As with most gyms, being a business they try to get as many people to join as possible, this means it is difficult to get the machine you want sometimes as there tends to be a few go around the gym in groups. The most annoying issue however is when you come to cancel the contract. Despite having stayed for well over the initial 12 months I signed up for so only needing to give one months notice I was chased for payment that I did not owe. Cancelled mid December, 1 months notice meant I paid in January, however I still got chased for a payment in February. This was after already proving to the finance company and the gym, proof of my cancellation. I was threatened with the payment being deferred to a debt collection agency, very unprofessional. I am not the only one who has had these issues, so was somewhat prepared for this, if you join keep all correspondence, including emails. You may need it just to legally cancel the contract.
Been trying to cancel my subscriptions now for 2 months. They have told me multiple of times it’s cancelled but yet I’m still getting charged !!
Be very careful with this gym. Look at the other reviews. It’s clear their business model is to attract as many members as possible on a cheap deal. They then steadily increase the direct debit until you cancel. When you do they pass you onto their debt collection partner who adds charges and pressures you to pay. This happened to me despite being on the more expensive no contract plan and sending a letter to cancel. It happened to several other people I know also. Avoid. If you are currently experiencing the same issue raise this with your local councillor and trading standards. It’s unfair business practise and the debt is not regulated or enforceable so it will not damage your credit rating.
Cancelled my membership with plenty of notice in October. However a bill of 26.99 still came out on 1st November. I contacted energie fitness who reassured me my refund would go back into my account mid November. I am still waiting. After numerous emails and phone calls I found out they use an external company to take out direct debits. I got the contact details for Harlands I have called them to have the phone put down on me 3 times after explaining I'm awaiting a refund and sent them emails to which have not been replied to. My advise is go to another gym if you do not want to be ripped off when cancelling your contract : waste of time!
Amazing gym friendly and clean. PTs on hand top of the range equipment. Couldn't recommend enough Classes are also available.
If I could rate this 0 stars I would Be very careful the gym is fine to train in but when it comes to cancelling your membership after being made aware of no terms and conditions at any point they will tell you that you have to give notice, I have seen that the website has had a change around as was a lot more misleading! there is what seems to be a cover up taking place at this gym about what they have been doing to customer cancelling they have sent my 26.99 to a debt collection agency and I have received a bill for £140 disgusting treatment to a customer for a year I was a member and wanting to cancel as I had not been in over a month I cancelled my direct debit and notified them, as I was at no point told of terms and conditions you wouldn’t think this would be an issue what they have been doing to people is disgusting
Just started doing classes there with intention to join when another membership runs out. Excellent equipment and really friendly staff. Jordan on reception has the warmest welcome.
