Very happy to support a long established independence gym. I’ve been using this gym for a few years and the price includes all classes including my favourite spin class and a sauna. The new changes the gym have made to focus on woman’s health and fitness has made me feel more comfortable in the new space and confident to try new classes too. I chose to stop my membership before the lockdown and paid the rejoin fee this month and also pay the slightly increased monthly rate, but this was clearly stated in multiple emails and communication by the gym the past few months so I have no problem with this as I was expecting it. Lovely staff and clean facilities too!
Best gym I’ve been to. Very friendly staff, lots of equipment, great classes and it’s really cheap. The gym has great atmosphere and promotes body positivity. Would recommend this gym to anyone.
Overall, I liked this gym but I wouldn't recommend it as a gym for advanced athletes for many reasons:- Cons: 1. The rowing machine was out of service, 2. The heaviest dumbbells were 15KG. 3. There are no boxes for stepups or box jumps 4. There are only 4 kettlebells 4, 8, 12, 16KG 5. There is no AC Pros: 1. Free lockers 2. Friendly staff 3. Sauna is available 4. Clean toilets and fitting rooms 5. There are many selections for sanitisation 6. Coach is also available
Amazing gym and great staff! Only reason why i wouldn’t give it 5 stars is due to the lack of free water, which I thought was standard for gyms.
Conveniently located, has a good variety of machines and weights available. Gets busy at peak times, but is spacious enough to fit all. Has sauna facilities and offers personalized training sessions at discount prices. On the flip side though, classes are few and far between, mostly not with live instructors. Not possible to change water temperature in the showers, which is a real downer after having a sweaty session.
All the staff are really friendly and the classes are good with really enthusiastic instructors. It would be better if they had water point rather than having to use the toilet and some of the machines are a bit worn but there's there's massive selection so not the end of the world
I've been at this gym August 2018 pros: sauna, ladies section, free classes, enough equipment to go around, friendly and helpful staff, free trial, parking is close, reasonably priced, located in city centre, gym is cleaned every night around 9/10pm however, cleaners can be distracting and get in the way cons: showers are either freezing or scorching and not the nicest - see through curtains, no Wi-Fi, no water fountains, not 24/7 overall, I would recommend, its better than Pure Gym and The Gym... for the price it's worth it and has a lot of facilities and classes to choose from. plus the showers are bearable and the gym rarely gets over crowded, Sunday afternoon and evening is usually quiet.
I joined this gym after going to 'The Gym' for a few years and oh boy is it an upgrade. BodyZone seems to have everything in mind for a good workout. Upstairs, the female changing rooms are spacious, have a sauna, hairdryers, lockers, showers, toilets and big mirrors. Upstairs also has a ladies only area which is nice to make use of, especially if you are a beginner. There are loads of classes upstairs too which you can go along to at no extra cost and the staff have always been happy to answer my questions or to just have a chat. Always some kinda rave music on which is helpful for if you forget your earphones!
Wonderful gym! Plenty of space and a lot of good gym machines - I never have to wait in the queue. They have a lady’s section with a lot of good equipment, too! There is a separate cardio section which is quite big. It really is my favourite gym in Newcastle.
I've been attending this gym since January and although I'm not shy at working out in mixed gyms, the ladies room in this gym is amazing so I never leave it! Fabulous equipment, tons of space and the staff are very approachable and friendly! Highly recommended!
