Charming enough pub with extraordinarily low ceiling beams, but the standard of food on our visit was quite poor. Tomato soup tasted like someone had just heated up a tin of chopped tomatoes. Although my companion's potato and leek was good, both were served in a bizarrely slanted dish that was hard not to spill. Cottage pie was served in a tatty old enamelled pie tin with a chunk of bread as if it were another soup course. A seafood risotto more resembled a biryani, though was nevertheless quite tasty. Chips appeared to be over-cooked frozen fries. Most ridiculous was a child's serving larger than what most of the adults received. And whilst the sausages on that seemed to be quite delicious and quality local produce, in themselves they carried too much spice for children. Also, with only a few small families present, service was slow and several errors in orders occurred. And overall I pity the staff that have to work in a permanent stoop under such low ceilings.

Lovely little restaurant/pub down by the water we have been here a few times and started our honeymoon here the food is good with decent size portions the staff are genuinely nice and will gladly stand and chat they are helpful polite and attentive the rooms here are comfy they are far enough away from the bar not to be disturbed and a few steps to walk back breakfast is traditional full English done how you like it all in all wether you want a quick drink while away an afternoon or spend a few days it's a perfect spot summer or winter. and your right down by by the river so it's a perfect spot for walkers and boat enthusiasts
