The Student Union Bar has been modernised. Some of the tables & chairs are a bit old but it's a student bar so who cares!? The bar and bar area have a modern feel, with nice lighting and several wide screen TVs around the walls, which were muted when I went at lunchtime. The staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't see a menu because my friends and I went on a Thursday, when there is a market in the square just outside the bar, with stalls selling noodles, curries, samosas and baked goods, hot dogs, etc. You are allowed to take this 'outside' food into the bar and use a table if you are drinking there. The bar prices are reasonable. You don't have to be a student to be served. Owing to the large number of young students, the atmosphere is vibrant and happy. I enjoyed my visit and will go back. My only criticism is that the only real ale consisted of two very pale ales - there was no bitter or stout/porter other than Guinness.
Nice bar with a student customargroup. Good service. Low prices. The interior is rather dull.you can sit outside.
Don't accept cash and plastic cups. Only reason why it is open is because they have an almost monopoly on business for students. Great people though so its okay

Staff are awesome and very helpful. Good place to sit alone or friends, live matches especially soccer leagues from English as well as European/tennis and cricket. I do not prefer having Starbucks coffee here.
Service depends on the time of day and how grumpy the bar staff are but otherwise good, with a large seating area, lots of variety drinkwise including Starbucks and plenty of food to choose from quality unknown as didn't have any. Lots of Tvs and big projection screen.

It's a student bar, so what do you expect? It's not like there is anywhere else to go. Drinks are ok, but they seem to run out of things and things to put in drinks, like slices of lemon. Food is surprisingly good at least at lunchtime.
Food is OK, but just OK, no brown sauce stocked for some strange reason was told they have everything else but they don't stock brown sauce. The alcohol is expensive. Food can be hit or miss depending on who is cooking it
