I rented a vehicle from Enterprise for a 9day/8night trip. The only issue I believe I had was making my reservation arrangements thru Expedia and not direct with Enterprise. We had 6 adults traveling together for a wedding. The process getting to the Rental facility only requires about a 3 min walk and NOT the typical shuttle rides. Greeted promptly and professionally by Ross and to our vehicle in short order. We had a very nice 9 passenger van, their Renault Trafic. Only issue you might have is finding a city parking garage that can accommodate its height, but otherwise it is a really nice vehicle. Superior fuel mileage and worked extremely well for the 6 of us traveling with 6 large checked bags, 7 full-size wheeled carry-on bags, and several backpacks and personal items. All luggage fit behind the 3rd row seat. We traveled to several locations that had inclines around the more mountainous areas, like on Isle of Skye and the van has the power to easily handle the load and the grade. I wish I could find the card I had with the name of the young lady who checked the vehicle in, when we were departing. She was very professional, thorough, and has a fantastic customer oriented personality. She made what is a normally difficult and tiring process in the states a complete pleasure at EDI Enterprise. I would highly recommend Enterprise at EDI if you have the need.
So far, I have no complaint renting at Enterprise. Indeed, they have the surcharge for premium location at the airport, but I think it's common practice. Jax was really nice during the registration and also Stephanie when we returned the car. Thank you.
I hired a car from Aberdeen and returned it at Edinburgh airport around 4am. I dropped off the key in the key box. In the morning a friendly staff sorry I couldnt remeber his name called me to confirm the car is OK and deposit would be returned to my card. Nice experience and great customer service.
Avoid at all cost!nThey were blaming the tiny mark as damage even if you didn’t cause. It is obvious that the wheel was curbed previously hence the tiny mark on the tyre but they blame and charged me £179 for that. Absolutely robbery. They even don’t tell me they charged. No emails no nothing…nDon’t hire and look other comments… exactly same scamming scenario….
I have had such a bad experience with this car rental company that I will try to avoid renting a car from them next time.n1. They knew when we would come to get the car I wrote them the flight number and when we arrive and still we waited for almost 3 hours in the cold and windy weather in the open parking lot without the possibility to go inside and sit somewhere until we got the car.n2. After 3 hours of waiting, they gave us a car that did not match what I ordered at all. The reservation was for a Ford Turneo Custom Long version, because we were a group of 8, and we each had luggage for a 2-week trip, and we got a short Peugeot Traveler, where there was almost no room for our luggage.n3. He asked me for a deposit exclusively from a credit card, even though they confirmed by email that I can also use an embossed debit card to pay it.n4. At the drop-off, the lady who was taking over the car almost certainly went to take pictures of the damage in the front part of the car, which I had no way of causing. They charged a high amount for the repair, but when I asked them for photos of the allegedly damaged part of the car before picking up the car for my insurance company, I was told that they did not have such photos. So my personal opinion is that the damage to the car was already on the pickup, but I had no way of noticing it, and this is how they tricked me. But I have no way to prove it.nBut the car as such was great. New, with good driving characteristics... and it was fine except for the size.nnEDIT: after posting my review I read a few others and find that many other customers have had the same problem. So I'm downgrading from 2* to 1*.nnEDIT 2024/10/03: Immediately after posting the review, I got a reply from Enterprise saying I should contact the customer service team. I contacted them and spoke with someone from the US HQ where they confirmed that the staff at the Edinburgh Airport branch had indeed acted illegally and noted my complaint saying that they would pass it on to the branch managers who should get back to me and sort it out with by me. Well, a week went by and I haven't heard from anyone since.nThey don't even deserve the 1*
