Great place to try some authentic Chinese food. There have plenty of options to choose from. Specially liked their noodles which was sort of like vermicelli and the sprouts added with them gave the perfect balance. Spring rolls were quite nice. The drinks are in the pricey side, a 7up can is around 7 pounds so wouldn’t recommend that.Food: 5/5
We came here after someone recommended it, but were a bit worried because of the mixed reviews online, luckily however the food was great, all the dumplings and dim sum were delicious, can recommend the xiao long bao and the spicy duck dumplings. The service was speedy too. Yes, the prices are a bit high, but the food is great.Food: 5/5
Definitely not Legend... Advantages: Service excellent, Polite, Efficient. Place Clean and Organised. Food portions Good. Prices good for the area. Disadvantages: Dumplings..... Will Never come back for these dumplings, just below average. Duck was way too dry. Noodles too dry. Special fried rice tasteless.
tldr: TOURIST TRAP. Food is okay-ish, but overpriced and they try to get more money from you in shady ways. Asked 4 dishes, 1 was delicious, 1 terrible and 2 okay. Portions are quite small. BUT THE SERVICE, while the food is served quite fast, the employees are not very friendly. We had ordered 3 dishes and they told that was not enough, it was mandatory to spend at least 15pounds per person later, we heard them tell this to another table that basically told them they had no right to ask that and they just accepted their order. Worst of all, is that no person in that restaurant knows the meaning of “discretionary”. We told them we did not wish to pay the service fee as mentioned before, service was not good - not even water was given to us, and they said it was mandatory. In this moment, another employee possibly the manager? jumps into the conversation and tell us that’s the practice in all city, to which we reply we’ve been here for a couple of days already and nobody ever forced us to pay it even though we sometimes did, as the service was good. By this time, the possible manager is basically saying that if we did not want to pay the tax we should’ve ordered take away. We ended up paying it as we’re getting late for something else - but avoid our mistake and if you do want to come here be prepared for some fighting for your costumer rights. Still quite sad to spend more than 20€ per person and leaving quite hungry.
** 1 Star** If you love feeling unwelcome before even sitting down, *Dumpling Legends* has you covered. The manager was rude from the start, and the waiter—clearly allergic to paying attention—served us shrimp noodles after we mentioned a shrimp allergy. When I pointed out their mistake, he kindly printed the order to prove *I* was wrong. Nice touch! The food? Singapore noodles with a single strip of chicken, dumplings that weren't what we ordered, and a waiter yelling "CHICKEN" as she ran away. Double-charged for the noodles too, because I guess one strip of chicken is worth twice the price. Avoid this "legend" unless you’re into chaos dining!
Lovely food. Though some portions were of a good size, some were a bit small and pricey. The pot of tea was very flavoursome. Service was good.Food: 4/5
After watching the Comedy Show, I'm not sure why I want to eat spicy wontons in chilli oil, but it's too late to find some other restaurant in Chinatown, so I only discovered this one, which was still open. They don’t have wonton, but the spicy pork xiaolongbao was delicious. The twice cooked pork was also nice as well, my husband enjoyed it very much. Not recommended: 1. Spicy and sour soup— the soup is too thick and flavour definitely not the same as what we had in Taiwan or China 2. Beef and beef offal— There are too many spices for flavour, and all I could taste was coriander and garlic; I didn't feel like I was eating lung pieces or beef.
One of the absolute best places I've ever eaten dumplings. The price was fine. The food wasn't too small and the waiter responded quickly on demands.Food: 5/5
I’ve come here a few times over the past 5 years to have the prawn dumplings. They are absolutely lovely, never had a bad experience and surprised the ratings for here aren’t overall higher. Fresh, tasty, great service and lots of options.Food: 5/5
There was a queue before getting in, we were told it would be 30mins but they managed to seat 4 of us downstairs in 15mins instead. The tables are more crowded downstairs. We were fine with this and were just happy we didn't need to wait longer. But be mindful that if you don't like cramped dining spaces, you should ask to be seated upstairs but you might be waiting longer. Also, bear in mind this place is really popular, so even managing to sit downstairs is amazing. So kudos to the owners. Next, the service! Omg it was so quick! The food was ready in less than 10mins of ordering. How is that possible? The staff were great too, from the servers, the cashier and the person out front who was seating the customers. Most of the food was really good, almost 10/10. The popcorn chicken starter was a bit salty. Received generous servings at that. Well, they were huge for me at least because it took me a while to finish it all, lol. Will be back to try other things!
