I came here to collect my BRP, I queued like everyone else I got a ticket form the guy, and was told to Waite on the side. It’s been an hour already and yet he keeps serving other customers while me still standing like a Statue of Liberty. Absolutely one of the worst if not the worst customer service ever. Wish there was a negative rating.
Classic old fashioned post office. Only two tellers at a time and it gets very busy with students. Acceptable but not great.
I arrived at the post office early to collect my BRP at 9:15 45 minutes before the location opened, and there was already a line down the block. At 10:10, the line started moving, but when I got inside I was told that nobody else would be able to collect a BRP card today as the limit had already been hit. I asked the man working there why they couldn't give out more BRP cards, and he approached me and began berating me, saying that they only hand out a set number of BRP cards per day, and I would have to come back tomorrow. Others in line were similarly frustrated, saying that they had been trying to get their BRP cards for up to a week and had been turned away every day. I again asked why he refused to give us our BRP cards, and he began rambling about underfunding of universities, demanding personal information from me, and telling me there was no way they could give everyone a BRP card before they closed for the day at 4:00pm. As the conversation went on, he got angrier and more insulting to me personally, singling me out among the crowd for asking questions. Only around 20-30 people were given a "ticket" and told to come back at a designated time to collect a BRP card, leaving many including myself to try again next week. I also highly doubt that this location is only able to give BRP cards to a maximum of 30 people per day. To the positive reviews saying that they "only" had to wait 45 minutes, or that they were the 15th person in line--THIS IS NOT NORMAL!! Other post offices don't harass customers to this extent; I've submitted an official complaint.
Good experience of BRP collecting. Arrived at 9.45 and was the 15th in line. After I got a ticket, I was asked to come at least at 11.30. I made a nice walk to Kelvingrove gallery and returned to the mentioned time. Then waited about 20 minutes more and after nice couple of minutes small talk with the staff member, got my BRP. It’s a peak period, too many student come at the same time. I think this process is really well organized, staff members are polite and explain why you need to wait or to come next day before opening.
If you want to go there why not I mean its a Post Office to collect brp cards and not just those they have many other things to do besides that so make sure you reach there by 10am as they are going to make you stand in a corner for minimum*1 HOUR* if someone has taken buses the nearest one is the Buchanan Bus Stop you would have to walk a lot make sure you are ready to stand and don't be late!!! They will not give you brp if you even reach there by 3pm even though they close by 4pm and it took them only 2 minutes to hand over the card so make your choice.
Kudos to the 2 guys running this place. Great service and they will remain open until people are served. I can’t fault them, as they stayed open when I popped in late from work with an urgent package. Also, great for foreign currency rates
To all BRP collectors: there are limited number being given out each day. So come at 9am and start queuing outside the door , wait until 10am when it opens and you will be given a number and time to return. Remember come at 9am. There will be 20 in the queue by 930. You might not get a number for the day and need to return again. Whether you have travelled from continent away to come here does not matter. However, toe the line, follow the rules and accept the arrangement, your collection process will go smoothly. Even free Giffgaff sims.
If you are here for collecting your BRP make sure to appear at the location around or at 7 am as it is a crowded place. The staff are friendly and very helpful and will guide you well if you are new to the city.
Shocked at previous reviews tbh! This post office is always clean tidy and the 2 gentleman that serve are always manners and will greet you with a smile, super helpful and accommodating
Rude and discriminatory behaviour from the staff. Made to wait for a long time as told other customers are more important.
