Been using this surgery for nearly 20 years now and have no problem with them whatsoever. Disappointing that people leave such bad reviews all the time, shame people who have a good experience don’t always comment. I believe they do their best with the resources they have. Have seen several doctors and a couple of nurses in my time and all have been a credit to the healthcare industry. I particularly like the call back function they have on the phone. Saves waiting and always get a call back.
Medical staff have always been great, IF you can get to see them. The reception staff are singularly rude and unhelpful at every step, unable to answer questions as challenging as "where can I get my child vaccinated" And "when would the next available appointment be". Unable to receive basic civility on any call, no matter how polite you are.
Fantastic service today, from calling me back from my place in the queue, to running on time, to the most amazing kindness from Dr Kate Randall. An all around fab experience as far as a doctor's appointment can be fab!
Absolute joke, tried every day for a week to get through on phone to sort an appointment but when you eventually speak to somebody the days appointments are gone!! Decided this afternoon to pop in to speak face to face to be told they can't get me an appointment for doctor to call me tomorrow but I could come in at 8.30am in the morning to try and get an appointment rather than waiting on the phone, however as I have a job not an option!! Told me to go to the hospital or ring 111. GP's need to stop hiding behind Covid and blaming everybody else and realise they are pushing people who don't need emergency care to go to the hospital and use 111.
Very rarely have there been any problems with the service at Barton. Been going there for 20 years now. Could only name about 3 times I have not been happy so count myself lucky to be a patient there especially according to stories from other surgeries. I make a point of thanking them for what they do.
This is not a reflection of the service provided by the GP’s, nurses or dispensary who have been awesome in the past. However, one of their receptionists is the embodiment of rudeness that I have only come to associate with medical practices. She surely does the rest of her colleagues a huge disservice in lowering the professionalism of the practice. May the Fleas of a thousand camels infest your arm pits and May your arms be to short to scratch.
Very impressed with the service today. Helpful receptionists got me a telephone appointment within an hour. I’ve seen Jill the nurse a couple of times and she’s friendly and efficient. Thanks Barton Surgery
I have been dealing with my mums health issues due to her being deaf, this surgery have been far from helpful. My mum was palmed off on anti inflammatorys and sent to physio without finding out what exactly was causing her so much pain in her leg, 5 months later she was diagnosed with cancer. They kept telling us she had torn a muscle
This review is for Gill. The epitome of someone who has followed her vocation. From the outset- when she called me in from reception, or rather invited me in to the consultation room - the warmth was tangible. The conversation that ensued was again warm and professional. I am in complete awe - she deserves a pay rise. Thank you Gill - you made me feel like I mattered.
All the reviews cant be wrong......! Appalling "service". 95% rude & unhelpful receptionists Suzie excluded from that as she's A1. Poor to no communication, zero respect and as another review says - they make you feel like a burden. Ask yourself, why do they have the voice message they do when youre on hold if theyre not rude & unhelpful? Then when you get the frankly pathetic, melodramatic inherently incompetent doctors you may as well have not bothered. Only doctors to be excluded from that statement are Hughes & Sulakshana. Box ticking, non caring culture where doctors cover for rude receptionists and receptionists are rude & unhelpful from the outset. A horrific setup enabled to be even worse while they hide behind COVID. COVID is simply an enabler for them to give an even worse service than before. But dont care complain, youre wrong and theyll always be right...! National Insurance contribution well worth it for this place!
