As I have experience of other surgeries while dealing with queries for my parents and in laws, I have got a chance to compare. As with all surgeries Toddington appears to be under great pressure and unable to deliver a service people expect. However, unlike other surgeries, it is possible to get through to the surgery to arrange appointments. They are rarely when you want them, but such is the state of the NHS. It would greatly improve things if online booking for future appointment even telephone were available. It might reduce the demand on the phone lines for people who need urgent appointments. I have nothing but praise for the doctors who have seen me, as I feel listened to and supported.
A little surprised at the low reviews. Called today, midday, they now have a queuing system which works well. Someone then took my details and arranged a call back. I received a survey between which went to the Doctor to help the conversation. Received a call back, had a prescription waiting for me at the pharmacy within the hour. Doctor was friendly, staff were friendly, process slick ... I'm impressed.
I am not supprised you have such poor reviews. My partner came in today as an away from home patient which he has a right to do under the NHS. He has a nasty ear infection and needs to see a gp. The receptionist was completely dismissive regarding his problem and pain as he was also short of breath and she said was. Can't you see your own Dr ? Even though he had explained he was away working and here for 3 months. He was turned away, stating no one could see him until next Tuesday. He went to see the pharmacy who stated he needed to go to A &E and the Dr's should have given him an emergency appointment, and they are very unhelpful. I am disgusted and will be speaking to the practice manager later.
Once good practice now not fit for purpose. Pathetic booking system with stroppy staff, can’t comment on the doctors as they won’t see me just fobbed off with a phone call with the chemist who was clueless.
If I could leave zero stars I would! What was a 5 star surgery many years ago now has fallen so far it beggars belief. Lack knowledge, doing Google searches! Rude, no empathy, in a rush and appalling record keeping. Only bothered about their pockets, not their patients. Dr Long, Dr Neil and Dr Perkins missed greatly. Glad to be with new surgery now. Night and day experience.
Appalling!! All they offer you is a phone appointment 2 weeks in the future without a designated time. Still awaiting scan results from 6 weeks ago
After years of support for this surgery I have to say today was an experience that shouldn't have occurred. I've waited 6 weeks for results , told today to ring surgery where I was sent by Toddington to have a scan , as they still were NOT on the system.did that to be told,wrong advice and I had to ring ultrasound mobile number from the original text.did that and they say we've sent them twice 1st time hrs after the scan.and then again over 2 weeks ago at a gp request ! That was After i told my gp on the phone when she rang me id not had the result . They told me to ring Toddington back and let them know a 3rd attempt was being made .I did that to be met by a receptionist that didn't let me speak but told me they were short staffed but it wasn't her I'd spoken to 19 mins previous and that she had the results now and they would go to gp! I said I know you have them because they've ONLY just been sent again , I'd done thier job for them and it shouldn't have occurred but no apology.but she wasn't interested. I also told her I was a patient who always gave excellent feedback for the surgery and fully understood the difficulties of short staffover past two years and benefit of the doubt etc ,however I said all I needed was an apology not to made feel like I was in the wrong which I am not sodisappiinted right now.
General Practitioners and Staff with very limited knowledge, non common sense and empathy. Terminal ill patient needs to call them several times because they do not fulfill simple requests correctly. Patients with overwhelming health problems should not have issues with people who suppose to take care about them.
Less than useful when I phoned asking for an appointment for back pain after a car accident. Receptionist couldn’t care less
If I could give no stars I would . They never have any appointments it’s a joke.
