One of my favourite pubs. Lovely old building with open fires. A mix of regulars and dog walkers. Good beer, great home cooked food, friendly staff. It gets busy so book in advance for a table for food.

Our party of eight enjoyed a fantastic dining experience. The food, beer, wine were very nice and the atmosphere was most welcoming. A return visit very soon is definitely on the cards.

Beautiful position and good food. Great place to watch the village cricket at the front or cows in the fields at the back.

Eat here fairly regularly. Lovely old English country pub, if one is still allowed to say that without offending anyone, I really don't care anyway. Always have the Chateaubriand which is the finest I have ever eaten. Always cooked to perfection, locally sourced produce. Staff excellent and always made to feel welcome. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Dog and Pheasant for a pleasant meal, never fails to satisfy. Trust me if it was not good, I would say so. Credit where credit due, a very nice place to be, well done.

Proper English country pub. Lovely log fire in winter. Very popular and often very busy. Good food and occasionally some unusual ciders eg rhubarb. Really friendly service and welcomes well behaved dogs.
