Welcome to The Devonshire Cat!

We are a real ale and craft beer bar, we pride ourselves on our knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Dating back to 2001 and bought by Abbeydale Brewery back in 2013, we established ourselves as one of the very first beer bars in Sheffield.

We’ve built our reputation on serving quality craft and cask, and have beer running through everything we do, from our food to our Cocktails.

We’re fiercely proud to be part of the Sheffield community and our menu is

sourced locally, as well as being fresh and homemade.

A minute off Division Street in the heart of Sheffield, we’re firmly part of the Sheffield drinking circuit and have free private hire for large groups.

Outside of beer our passion is in Whisky, try one off our 75 strong list, or join us for one of our many private tasting sessions.

Excellent food and good selection of beers. The interiors are well studied, a lot of metal and wood. The urinals are just genius. The staff is polite and fresh.

Lovely atmosphere to relax in and enjoy a wide range of real ales, beers and ciders. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable on all the beverages served here. I believe the Devanshire cat is owned by the Abbeydale brewery, the pub hosts a large choice of ales from all over the world, so there is plently of drinks to choose from. The pub does serve food which has improved the menu and quality from some time ago, now under new ownership. There is also, more gluten free beers on tap gradually getting added over time. Enjoy!
The Devonshire cat had a fantastic atmosphere the prices are very reasonable for the drinks and the music was also spot on. The staff are really friendly and always ready to serve and give ideas for the next drink.
Just had an enjoyable evening in the Devonshire Cat. Wheelchair access into the building was great, gets a bit tight for maneuvering around, once people are in. Disabled toilet was a bit hairy, a table is placed in such a way that you have to go close to a stairwell to reach the toilet, if you missed you could end up falling. There were two black bins placed by the door, so you couldn't open it fully. Once in the toilet , a nappy bin is in the way of side transfers. Oh and the mirror on the back of the door gives you that lovely view of yourself whilst you do your business. Sorting this out would grant a 5 stars.
Loved it the first time we were here, today was very average. I don't mind a wait, but how hard is it to send out hot food? Staff were lovely as ever, just disappointing food.
I had high hopes for the "Dev Cat" due to its reputation in beer circles, but the place itself is pretty underwhelming. Both inside and out, it looks like a Wetherspoons that started undergoing a modernisation but the landlord gave up halfway through. Perhaps it gets busy though on an evening to make it feel more inviting, but on the Saturday afternoon we visited it felt cold and sparse. The one saving grace was the excellent pint of Abbeydale Heathen.
A fairly fancy, with good food and selection of drinks, including craft beers and cocktails.
Great selection of craft beer and a good feel to the place overall. Highly recommended.
Went for Sunday lunch, children friendly with a kids menu. Food was good, Friendly staff. Would go again.
