We had an overnight stay here, ready for a course in Romford on Monday. We arrived at 7pm to be told that we only had until 7:30pm if we wanted hot food. So we quickly went to the rooms and dropped our bags, then went to the restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. The room was a nice size and warm. I was very disappointed with the fact that in the morning they don't turn on the coffee machine for fresh coffee and served us instant coffee instead! What's the point in having a machine if you can't have coffee with Breakfast? I was told that it doesn't get turned on until the bar opens.

Had an absolutely shocking stay at De Rougemont Manor on valentines day. The bathroom basin sink was blocked which meant having to use the bath for everything, was supposed to receive a wake up call for 7 am which never happened and ended up 45 minutes late for work, the bed's springs were engraved into my back and literally considered sleeping on the carpet as it was almost unattainable to fall asleep on the bed, the online advert was misleading as the breakfast was inclusive but they charged £14.50 each for literally two eggs and a toast. The management has known about our experience and still have not given two hoots about it which makes it even more shocking. They claim to be a posh hotel but I genuinely wouldn't wish that SHOCKINGLY UNCOMFORTABLE BED on anyone or the stay, Thanks De Rougemont Manor for ruining my Valentines. Room 101

I took my mum, my nan and my sister here for afternoon tea. I couldn't do it on mothers day so we did it the weekend after. We had a booking for 3.30pm, we arrived at 3.20pm and was told to wait in the bar area while the receptionist was to let the restaurant know we had arrived, at quarter to 4 I went to the reception to ask if our table was ready, the receptionist response was 'oh are you ready now, ill go and tell them your waiting' even though she had asked us to wait in the bar area. At 4pm we were seated for the afternoon tea, which we was all excited about because as mummies we don't often get time together without the babies. When we sat down the table was wonky and not a little bit wonky in which a piece of paper would have fixed no, if we put pressure on the table it would have broke due to a broken leg. but we didn't complain. The plates and cups didn't match at all and some of the cups were dirty so we had to get these changed. (We aren't normally picky but these had a lot of dirty in the cups) When seated they asked us what drinks we would like, we asked the lady for a tea list as wasn't sure what we fancied. 10 minutes later another lady came over, so again we asked for a tea list. She came back with a box of the different teas and explained they didn't do a tea list, which is what the other lady should have said but didn't. The way the restaurant was done up and atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, we got our teas/coffees and was chatting away, There wasn't enough sugar for 4 of us so had to ask for another pot and more milk as they gave enough for one of us . At 4.30pm the manager of the restaurant came over and said our sandwiches/scones etc. would be a little while as they had a late booking. We could see they didn't have enough staff as people were complaining on other tables about still waiting on drinks they ordered a while ago. We got the sandwiches at quarter to 5 which we wasn't happy about, BUT They were delicious! The cakes looked great. Once we started eating we noticed their wasn't any napkins on the table in which we had to ask for, they came back with paper napkins you would have at a kids party, we asked for a drinks list as we fancied another drink. (Nan likes soft drinks and the rest of us fancied a glass of wine) They only had a wine list, didn't have a list of the other drinks they served. When we finally finished our tea we couldn't eat it all so the lady got us a doggie bag for us to take them home which was a cute little handbag made from tinfoil, I've been for afternoon tea a few times before (never had a bad experience) and this is the worst I've been to, it seems they cant handle the busier periods. The staff don't seem to care and we didn't leave smiling about our experience which was a shame as this is meant to be a 4 star hotel.

Lovely hotel. Held a masked ball in their largest party venue and it was FAB! The only negative point is the SLOW cooked beef was tough.

Only stayed in a single room for one night. The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and tidy. Steve behind the bar was very friendly and went out of his way to remember your name.
