Admin error meant we were given the wrong key on arrival, and entered a room that can only be described as not fit for use- exactly the reason why we were supposed to have been given a different key. We were instead placed in another room across the road, which only had a shower instead of a bath, although the water would not drain and instead made a bath of its own, which was quite slippery if not taken with care. The wardrobe door also wouldn't close when we hung up our coats, leading us to hang them on the rather spindly chair (which fell over a couple of times) instead. The lighting was awkward and would only work if certain switches were in certain positions (it almost felt like a riddle!) However, the staff were friendly and polite, the room was clean and contained everything needed and the cooked breakfast can't be faulted! All in all, probably bad luck and some wonky plumbing, but a comfortable night sleep with a decent breakfast.

The room I stayed in had creaky floor boards and the bathroom was poorly fitted out. The taps dripped and the shower went from freezing cold to boiling hot constantly while I was using it. The food was okay, but not worth the price. The bed was nice and the staff were very friendly.

Very good value for money. The room was clean and roomy but as we were opposite the car park, the security light kept the room bright during the night. Breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel was close to Romford centre. Would definitely use again

Stayed there 3 times now and always a fantastic service and rooms are very nice

Room are of an adequate size. The main building has some interesting history, a beautiful place to stay. You forget you are in the middle of a very busy area. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is rather average but of good quality. Enjoyed the stay and the shower is very relaxing.
