Welcome to a truly sensory and culinary experience !
You are going to live an unbelievable experience: eating in pitch darkness. If this idea seems to be a little strange at first, it is maybe because by suppressing the dominant sense of the sight, each person naturally starts a deep self-questioning. With the help of our blind guides you are going to completely re-evaluate the notion of taste and smelling through our gastronomic and pedagogical process. Dans le Noir? London is located at 30-31 Clerkenwell Green in the trendy area of Clerkenwell. It can accommodate sixty people in the dark room, the main dining area. It also has a lit bar and a lounge where delicious cocktails are served before and after your dinner.

This was a interesting experience and I'm glad I took the time to try it. You are lead into a pitch black room (you aren't prepared for how really really dark it is, think bottom of a mineshaft dark) by your server and seated at a table with strangers. You are served your meal in courses based on what menu you ordered from (Meat, Veggie, Seafood, Whatever). Its strange but you don't realize how important sight is to the eating experience until its not there at all. Food was delicious.

Food was alright but the whole experience of dinning in the dark it's worth trying at least once, you have such a laugh. Starter and dessert are minimal, main instead have three different courses in one dish and if you use some bread with it (complementary) it would be fulfilling. So I would recommend go for the formula of only starter and main or main an dessert (£46). The most spectacular menu is the "trust the chef", I can guarantee that holds a few surprises... . You would be alright with only tap water but if you fancy some wine they have a nice bottle of Spanish white at £25.

Went here the other day... fantastic! Our waited Jack was exceptional and all the waiters are funny and make the environment very friendly. It's like a comedy show in the dark sometimes. We got the tasting menu which was very good. Guessing the food and working out where your drinks are is a lot of fun! Note the sharing tables if you're a couple- but it is fun to be put with strangers especially as you cant tell what they look like until afterwards!

We went here and had the menu degustation. Honestly speaking the experience was nothing like its counterpart concept in Berlin. I felt the space was small and poorly ventilated by comparison. The food was average at best, and even though we couldn't see, they had clearly crammed way too many seats into the dining area. This was not just our sensory experience of the place since the one in Berlin felt nothing like this. There was something sticky - a red sauce or jam on my partners seat and obviously because you couldn't see he had his trousers ruined. No complimentary drinks were offered for this. The "surprise" cocktail was pretty much a vodka orange! This was highly overpriced for what it was, and the restaurant should really reconsider how they lay out the tables, especially with allowing large hen type parties in the same area as the main dining room as it further compromises the experience for everyone else. Save your money and go and see a show or go to a nice restaurant!

Absolutely amazing! I took my partner here as a birthday surprise and he was over the moon. We picked the seafood three course and the vegetarian three course sets, with wine/beer this came to roughly £120. The costs are slightly higher, but 100% worth it given the incredible experience, attentive and charismatic staff and delicious food. The experience in itself was something I had never encountered, where you see ABSOLUTELY NOTHING once in the dining room, the staff (who are vision impaired) guide you to your seat and bring you food and drinks. We had a go at being civilised and eating with our cutlery, but since no one could see, we decided to get our hands dirty. Not being able to rely on your sight makes for a wonderful challenge for your taste and smell senses. At the end, you can find out what the dishes were you ate, and what they looked like. Overall, It was a perfect evening and I'd love to go again and have since recommended many friends and family.
