A very slick and friendly operation. I dropped off an old 1985 Aiwa power amplifier that would not power up and was pleasantly surprised to see that there is no fee to inspect the kit, only for the repairs themselves. Anyway, a couple of days later I was called and told that a capacitor had blown and there was no replacement available, as it was a bespoke part and long since discontinued, so a fix was not possible. I am grateful that my amp was returned to me and that I paid nothing for the "diagnosis". As this was part of a £1,200 midi system that I had craved owning since 1985 and only got my hands on one in 2021! it seemed a shame that I had only owned it for a year and now it was seemingly only fit for scrap/spares. For a second opinion I took it to another repair place in West London who managed to fix it it was not the main capacitor, but a minor one that was causing overheating by changing 5 parts and charging me about £60. The main thing is that my system is up and running again. I have no issue with D.S.Budd, they offer great value for money, and I was impressed with the speed of service I received, however the diagnosis was obviously not as thorough as it should have been as my "unsaveable" amp is now saved.
Took confidence from all the glowing reviews and entrusted Mr Budd with the repair of our 15 year old, much loved CD player. What can I say? It was the week before Xmas. He repaired it, serviced and cleaned it. It was ready for collection within 24 hours and the bill was……modest. Friendly and helpful as well. The business, he tells me, was established by his grandfather. There are not many like this around these days…. Grateful thanks.
I was so lucky to find D.S. BUDD. I had searched everywhere to find someone reputable to look at my vintage turntable and I was not disappointed. Broken switch repaired, a check of the stylus and cartridge set up meant I could have my trusted turntable back in good order and not have to fork out on a modern one I didn’t want. All in budget. Super quick. Brilliant.
Excellent service repaired my Arcam A85 amplifier, following an online search having been quoted an extortionate amount by the manufacturer. Repaired for a fraction of the amount. By the way a great little village location.
I have used Andy twice now in the last few years. On both occasions he has repaired items very quickly and economically, one a CD player and now my beloved turntable i bought over 40 years ago! Andy is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, and repairs are done on site. Don't throw out your hi-fi, they will fix it. Cannot fault. So happy.

Great service. I took my 1977 JVC Turntable in to get it going having collected dust for over 20 years. It is back in service and playing all my old LPs beautifully. Highly recommend.
Very friendly place with great service. Many thanks to Andy for fixing my treasured Teac CD Recorder/Cassette deck. Some of my old tapes were playing way too fast and gargled some at insane speed!. He stuck with it and managed to solve the problem. Everything is now running like a dream! Brilliant job.
My Nad amplifier developed a fault on one channel, sorted within a couple of days at a very reasonable cost. I'm so pleased to have my hifi up and running again and sounding perfect. Thank you very much. A1 service.
Great people, fixed an old hi-fi system, amp and turntable combo. Great service and reasonably priced. Short opening hours at the moment with COVID stuff going on, but I would still thoroughly recommend them if you need hi-fi repairs.
