Anderton's Music Co. has a very large stock of all things, music related. I haven't visited the shop but I have used their online mail order. The service was exceptional. Ordered a bass amp head Saturday evening, and it arrived by Monday lunchtime. It was very well packaged and secure. Ordered a large base cab same excellent service. The staff in the shop are very knowledgeable and helpful. They gave me great advice over the phone on the technical details of matching bass cabs to amp heads. Will definitely use them again highly recommended. Update i ordered a recording king swamp dog after seeing the amazing reduction in the January sale. Ordered it Saturday, arrived the next day from a shop 250 miles away. Very well packaged brilliant service yet again.

I got the best service ordering a Purple Danish Pete telecaster from Anderton’s to the USA. It arrived within 5 days, and a complete quality check and setup was done on a Squier guitar that was only $400. I would have never expected that on such an inexpensive guitar. It was ready to play right out of the box, and was even in tune! There were also no customs fees and the shipping was extremely fair to travel such a long distance. Thanks a million!
Speedy Delivery, good price. More importantly, the after-sales service was there when I needed it. My first Modal Argon8x was faulty. The last 5 keys didn't work. To save on messing around with couriers, I arranged to take it back to the shop in Guildford myself. They'd already kept a replacement reserved for me, and we unboxed it and checked it over before I left. Excellent service. Fixed the issue with no fuss.
I visited Anderton's after having watched their YouTube channel for a while. Their Click to Collect service is fantastic order reservation for up to 30 days with only 10% paid in advance . I reserved a Fender American Professional II Stratocaster HSS while I was in my home country a few weeks ago, and when I arrived in the UK picked it up from the store in person. Toby one of the sales reps was very helpful in finalizing my order. Besides all the great guitar equipment in store that you can try to your heart's content, they have private demo rooms where you can connect whichever guitar you want to try to an amp and test it out in private. They also have dedicated rooms for bass guitars, drums, and keyboards. Overall, it was an amazing experience to visit the store in person and I barely made it out of there without buying a second or third guitar. Although it was a long trip from London 1.5 hours by car it was well worth it! I highly recommend shopping from here in person or online their online support is amazing too as they answered all my questions within a day which helped me decide what to buy for them.
Amazing place for the musically minded or curious. Wonderfully friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. Incredible range of guitars, keyboards and recording equipment. My youngest and I love to visit and pick up a little treat now and then . We will be back soon.
What fantastic customer service here. We spent a couple of hours with our 8yr old grandson, buying his first electric guitar. There was loads to choose from and he was able to try out the ones he liked, in a quiet room he was nervous at first so this was perfect for him Toby gave us space and time and popped back with advice and guidance. What a kind, knowledgeable and patient man. We were a family of 6, and each of us said what a fantastic place it was and how great every single member of the Anderton’s team was. We would never dream of going anywhere else. Thank you Toby and your team.
For businesses looking for a recipe in great service & experience - pay attention to Andertons! I made an Internet purchase for a Podcast mixer station which was a great price, delivered quickly, but quickly developed a fault. Andertons were so quick to respond to my online customer support request. The tone of the messages were so professional and we quickly agreed a resolution and I decided to pay a top-up to get a more premium solution. For the exchange I decided to make the 1.2hr drive to Guildford, and I'm so glad I did! The store is incredible, immediately offering an amazing vibe. The layout of the store is impressive, the decor is awesome, and to top it off, all and I mean all of the staff members are so polite, pleasant and cool! They couldn't do enough to help and make sure I had a good experience. The cherry on the cake was, I was told I had some points on my account, from the online purchase - that resulted in a further £19 of saving towards another item I purchased whilst onsite. A FANTASTIC BUSINESS AND I WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN BEFORE EVEN CONTEMPLATING USING AMAZON! Thank you Andertons
Just bought a Fender - shipped to Italy, arrived in perfect condition packaging was great! and arrived in great time, which is rare for Italy! There’s an added import tax of course, but that’s the italian side of things not Andertons. Super impressed with the order and delivery, and looking forward to visiting the store next time I’m in the UK!
My latest purchase of many from Andertons was the Empress Effects Bass Compressor Pedal in blue. As always Andertons service was excellent and delivery prompt. The pedal itself is fantastic, very versatile and easy to use. I look forward to trying some other Empress products, if this is anything to go by they'll be fabulous.
Excellent! Had a great time on my first visit. This photo only shows just one area of the shop. The selection of guitars are amazing, along with sound rooms, speakers, keyboards and accessories. Very helpful and friendly staff, great service, so much so I bought my first guitar there even though I just went in to look. They set up any guitar I wanted in the sound room, and gave me all the information I needed. I Purchased everything I required to get started. Will only be using them from now on.....!
Excellent service visiting the store. The staff encouraged me to try the guitars I was interested in side by side in a dedicated room. They gave me as much time as I needed and were attentive without being pushy. When I asked questions about a specific feature on the guitar the guy didn't know and so rather than give an invalid answer he went to find the right person. This was greatly appreciated. I had gear to part exchange. Part exchanging in a store is never going to get the best price compared to private selling, but their exchange policy is clearly explained and is consistent. I value this transparent approach. Andertons have separate section for the really pricey/ rare guitars. The staff are extremely careful and protective of these guitars. This is good to know as if I was buying these guitars I wouldn't want the usual handling that takes place with normal shop floor stock. Great service from Ben Elmer and team, thank you.
Back in May I was travelling through the UK from Australia. Since I’m a big fan of the YouTube channel, I convinced my fiancé to drop into Andertons while we were travelling to visit family on a tight schedule. The shop is large and has quite a nice range of guitars on display. I was hoping to test out a Rabea Chapman guitar however the staff wouldn’t approach me at all… so after a few minutes we left the store. Probably would have made a sale out of me too, maybe next time… At least I can brag to my mates in Australia I’ve been to the Andertons store in Guildford UK.
Wanted a Les Paul, had played the model I wanted 60' Standard but have been waiting for "the one" with a killer top. Andertons had actual photo's of each Les Paul against serial number. I wouldn't call it a gamble. The photo's on Andertons site didn't even do the top justice, they do all their own checks as well belts & braces. Really happy with my guitar. Best UK retailer bar non. Thank you.
A few months ago I bought a new Sire acoustic guitar from Andertons. As a novice player I had been feeling that the string action was too high but after sending photos and explaining my view Andertons immediately took it back without hassle or question, made various adjustments to the bridge, nut and some of the frets, fitted a new set of strings and returned the instrument to me - all at no charge, under warranty. The guitar is now far more comfortable to play. Their courtesy, responsiveness via phone and email, quality of work and overall customer service level has been quite incredible, in an age when few companies even bother to understand their customers' concerns. I highly recommend Andertons, without reservation. They were simply brilliant to deal with.
Andertons were absolutely fantastic. I was exceptionally fussy about which guitar I wanted and was adamant which one I wanted but completely changed my mind once I got there. The guys didn’t loose their patience and did everything possible to help me decide which guitar I wanted. They weren’t pushy or impatient, they just left me to pace around the shop trying to decide which Les Paul I would finally be taking home. They helped when I asked questions and genuinely did there level best to help with my purchase. Well worth the 7 hour drive to get there. Top work guys and I’m one very happy customer.
I had a faulty Snare Drum bought a full Alesis Drum Kit in August 2021, i reported this to Andertons and received confirmation from the Vendor warranty parts need to be handled by place of purchase i.e Andertons, i sent them proof of purchase, they have ignored my mails, i have had to ask the manufacture to step in, nearly 2 weeks now and still no feedback from Andertons! Extremely dissapointed in their customer care, be very careful on replacing faulty parts with them as they are reluctant to respond!
I ordered a Drum Microphone set for my son’s Christmas which was an easy process online. The staff in Anderstons were exceptional with their support when I showed my anxiety about a timely and safe delivery of this expensive item Each call I made was answered promptly and the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as they explained in detail the process and the timings. When the order did not arrive on the expected day, they were the ones who made contact with the delivery company and kept me up to date. The communication by email was excellent and no query was left unanswered. I will definitely order from them again. Highly recommended.
Have been a customer of Andertons for years. Wanted to highlight some great service I received from Sam today. Dropped a guitar to have a service and setup and had been looking for a Gretsch hollow body for while. Sam talked me through some of the different models and their technical specs. Ordered 2 from the warehouse which I came back later in the day to try. I was given the time and space to try both and ask any questions even though it was very busy. Decided to purchase one which I’m very pleased with. Would always return to buy guitars from here, far better than buying online. Good service goes a long way
