One of the best pub meals I have had in a long time. I ordered the chicken and ham Crown pie and for dessert the apple and blackberry crumble. A lovely historic pub with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent service. Perfect.
Great meal, with great service. The pub has loads of atmosphere and all the staff made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door.
Very good food. We arrived 10 minutes before food time was over.. and the cook was very happy to serve us. Excellent service. Good size parking area. Prices reasonable. Toilet good. Eating areas in and out. The pub looks very good inside and out.
A beautiful pub with a quaint and welcoming interior. Stunning food and attentive staff. Great portion sizing, reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend.
Great food in a period pub with a nice new beer garden out the back. Friendly service amd really enjoyed it for lunch.
Just popped in for a quick pint. I enjoyed a well served pint of Youngs London Stout, never tasted before and it ticked all the boxes. Nice chat with the friendly bar staff too.
Popped in late for a meal, service was great, very friendly and fun staff. I had the chicken ham and leak pie home made and mash with a nice medley of veg. And a superb apple and blackberry crumble with custard... is there any other way.... to finish. Will be back there again I'm sure of that.
Popped in on the off chance they had a spare table for lunchtime. The initial kerb side appeal of the pub is low but it was late and we were hungry. Once inside we were warmly welcomed and offered menus. The interior is nice with a log fire at one end of the bar and the restaurant at the other. The menu are extensive offering full Sunday roast to Fish and Chips all the food we ordered was excellent. Don’t be put off by the slightly rundown appearances as this pub offers plenty.
Six of us visited, and although it was a busy day, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We each had different main courses, including the sea bass, seafood plater, crown pie, sausage and mash. All were good size meals, all were well cooked and all very tasty. The surroundings were traditional, and it was good to see a few well behaved dogs come in with their owners. We had a lovely meal and a lovely time.
Delicious food, friendly service, and very nice atmosphere.
