We've been here many times in the last year or two. Always makes me happy to turn off the A14 and wind down to the village to camp behind the pub. Friendly and welcoming and the food at the pub is great. Huge portions and always very good. Sadly the pub, like so many, is shut right now. We're still back here in the field though
Where do i start? 1. Pub is great. Very friendly, lovely open fire, and nice real ales 2. Menu is great! Nothing fancy, but really good, well cooked pub food. Great portions and very reasonable. 3. Caravan site is lovely. Big open field next to pub on public footpath for nice local walks. 4. Steve the owner has been brill. We had some electrical difficulties with our caravan and absolutely bent over backwards to help sort us out. Which he did. Nothing is too much trouble. We'll deffo ve back here.
Had yet another great stay at this smashing home from home pub. Stayed in our camper van on their great level very well maintained site. Food, Beer Campsite, Welcome all first class. We will be back!!
The family run bar was amazing, great food and excellent service. It was great with the open fire and the end of the bar made it cost inside. The owner told us it was a family run pub for over 40 years. Well worth a visit.
Stayed for a couple of nights in our caravan, super village pub, great home cooking, decent beer and reasonably priced. Spacious camping field and the landlord was very helpful getting us settled in.
Absolutely fantastic, food. People, the welcome by all @-The Cross Keys. The villagers. Facilities, camp site . First visit, by far not the last. Bella loved you all too, especially the treats Liz Payne
Great country pub, sociable owners, food is home made, lots of it, you definitely won't starve ha ha!!! Can thoroughly recommend it. Big field, gated, for motorhome, caravans etc. ....try it... Think you'll enjoy....
This pub and campsite is a little Gem! Situated a stone's throw from junction 16 of the A14, the site makes an ideal overnight stop, or even destination campsite for a quiet weekend away. Facilities are simple, but adequate with EHU available if you have a long enough lead and if you are able to survive off grid, the prime spots are along the paddock fence or further up the gently sloped 8 acre firm grass field. Steven gave us a warm welcome in the "locals" style pub and the food created by his mum was tasty, home cooked and incredible value, as is the camping! The camping field toilets are very clean but not to everybody's taste, so either bring your own or use the pub toilets during opening hours if trailer style toilets are not your thing. Overall, a great hidden site, unlikely to be full, so call in and give it a try sometime.
Lovey place to apend the night. Bar staff and the locals gave me a very warm welcome. Really nice people. Food spot on my complements to the chef 10 out of 10
Caravanning here for the weekend, what a great place to stay Also does b&b. Very central to the regional towns and cities, does really great food at sensible prices ...can't wait to go back.
