Excellent food. Great drinks. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Lots of charm with an old time feel. I had the classic cod and chips, and will be back for the steak and ale pie.
Good food at a reasonable price. Let us sit in the bar to eat as we had a dog with us. Very friendly staff and other customers. Would recommend. And we are going back for their valentines night special!
Had an impromptu Saturday lunch here with the family. The proprietors were super friendly and welcoming, providing a colouring book for our toddler and even a little gift pack to take home. We were in the restaurant area which has a lovely traditional pub feel to it that's becoming hard to find now, and is super cosy. We didn't go in the bar area. The food was good quality and reasonably priced and all enjoyed their meals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub and we'll definitely be back!
We were staying overnight in this area. We found this lovely pub on Google. We had a meal there which was very good. I had the rump steak and chips which together with the mushrooms and tomato was perfectly cooked. The pub has a nice friendly atmosphere. Very good choice of beers. I liked that the dining area was separate to the bar.
11 members of the family ate here on Sunday 4 Dec 22. The service and food was excellent. Despite several large parties in the restaurant at the time, the food came out together, hot and everyone enjoyed their meals. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Definitely recommend and we will return. Thank you :
Proper pub the food is great especially they serve a healthy choice if preferred well presented and friendly pub
What a great place, amazing service, great food, and what a lovely selection of real ales. I almost did them all. Again fantastic food and a great selection of real ales
Lovely little pub with a fantastic menu. I have visited twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on both visits. Good portion sizes, well presented and very tasty. The only complaint I have is that they charge £9.99 for a child's dinner which I think is rather pricey for an 18 month old. The pictures I have posted show the Garlic prawns starter so good I forgot to take the picture first!, the soup of the day, the sausage and mash, chicken with wedges and then the child's roast dinner. All of which were very nice indeed. All of this plus 2x coke cost £50. Perhaps a little expensive but I would definitely return.
A delightful old pub tucked away in Hartford village's old high street. The pub dates back to 1541, according to its website, and has been somewhere I intended to visit for some time. I'm pleased I did.
Great place to eat with big portions. Friendly atmosphere. Best to book
