I would like to give 5 stars because it is an independent and cosy place but the service let me down a bit. Lovely people but it just took ages between get a table, get a drink and get food. I don't really get it because these were only 2 tables of people and the rest was empty, I don't dare to think when is full. Once you get drinks and food is all good but otherwise you will wait a long time! Hopefully the service will improve to attract more people
Went here for my birthday with the family. I have eaten here before and it was always busy so was a bit taken back because very quite for a Saturday night. thought it might not be very good but I was pleasantly surprised the food we had was very nice indeed and not to expensive .so four drinks four very nice starters and four mains also very nice just over 100 ,£25 pound a head I think is well worth the food we had and the staff weren't overlay attentive which I prefer .nothing more annoying than someone asking you every five minutes is everything alright. All together a most enjoyable evening with my favorite people.
It was cold and we could only sit outside due to Covid restrictions. Nevertheless the staff is attentive and you can get blankets for a symbolic price which are yours. A small lunch menu but everything we had was very tasty and reasonably priced. Just what we needed in a lazy weekend. Recommended!
Staffs were excellent - no doubts about it. My word the food was extremely horrible. On Sat 11 Feb-23 we went for lunch and ordered chicken burger and chicken salad. In both dishes the chicken was so hard extremely overcooked and we really struggled to eat. Chef must be terrible in cooking chicken, Please avoid chicken dishes if you can.
That is one of the best pubs in the area. We were a big group of people and they accommodated us very fast. Service was great and fast. Food was delicious. I had one of the best steaks and definitely the best in the area. Everyone on our table was happy with their food. They have many types of beer and ales. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
Good food at reasonable prices and dog friendly. A good lunch time visit. Even though they were entertaining a quite large funeral gathering we received the attention and care we like and more. Well done the staff of the 'Barley Mow'. See you again soon. 6*
Been ages since last visited been at least one change of owner since and it was really nice. Very clean and tidy - plenty of seating indoors plus a large back patio. Beer was good but nothing to rave about unfortunately and only 2 ales to choose from Liked it and will be back Oh and has BT sport only for the sports /footy fans
Lovely pub/restaurant with plenty of tables inside and a lovely garden outside for warm days and nights. The food here is always really good and the staff always lovely. A fairly large car park but gets very busy day and night as very popular. One of my favourite eateries in the area....
Staff were pleasant, it's a pity that 2 of our first choice from the menu were not available. The pub is dog friendly Which is a bonus. Yes we would visit the pub again.
Dined here last Saturday 22nd October, the service was excellent very attentive nothing too much trouble, The meal was very good with a good portion of all, the cauliflower and broccoli was done just right. It was great value, and we will be going back
