I just wanted to say how much I’ve appreciated being registered with Cripps Health Centre. I’ve been with a few GP practices before, and Cripps genuinely stands out – especially considering how stretched NHS services are. Being able to book appointments easily through the NHS App without calling at 6/7am and waiting in a queue! has made managing my health alongside uni so much less stressful. I’ve had to see GPs fairly often and work with a few specialists, so that kind of access has been invaluable.nnI really appreciate that I can choose who I book with – the staff I feel comfortable with have been incredibly compassionate and good at explaining things clearly, including how to manage costs like pre-paid prescription certificates. On the flip side, I’ve seen my partner have a harder time with some other clinicians – so it’s definitely about finding the right fit, and Cripps makes that easier than most.nnLittle things like getting uni forms sorted or being offered practical alternatives to long waiting lists have also made a big difference. It’s the kind of support that shows they really understand student needs. I also work in the NHS and regularly hear from patients at other GP practices – so I know just how hard it is to deliver this kind of care consistently. Cripps genuinely does a great job, and I just wanted to say thanks!!
Receptionists act like bouncers, there's no way to contact medical staff directly and if you try the practice email as recommended you get ignored. My appointments were repeatedly cancelled and when I was unable to visit for 3 months no effort was made to rearrange to find an appointment for me. Stingy people that will do their absolute best to find nothing wrong with you.
Cripps is one in a million - I have never felt so wonderfully and consistently supported by any other GP practice in my life. I've been a patient here for the past six years, and have had a wide variety of consultation and care needs in that time, including emergency mental health support from Stuart that I genuinely believe saved my life, regular mental health support by Dr Baker, who is one of the kindest men I've ever met, treatment of burns by various nurses, contraceptive support by the lovely Nurse Carmel, blood tests, and referrals to the OT and Wellbeing Coach for assistance with living with chronic fatigue, amongst other things. Every single Doctor, Nurse and practitioner I have interacted with has treated me like a whole human being and taken my concerns seriously, even when I felt silly for asking. I have never felt dismissed or rushed in my appointments, and I am so very grateful for the care and respect I have been shown over the years.nnA final note to say that, while I can see several complaints about the receptionists, I have had very positive experiences. No question was a stupid question, and they have been excellent at signposting me to the right services. One moment that stands out is when I was in the middle of a mental health crisis and called for an appointment with my regular GP. The receptionist must have heard my panic upon finding they were unavailable for a couple of weeks, and noticeably softened her voice and spoke to me with a gentleness and compassion I will always remember. She booked me in for an appointment with Stuart, the mental health practitioner, and this was the beginning of my recovery. Without her, I might not be here right now. I felt deeply cared for by front of house staff, and I am forever grateful. I wish I knew her name because she deserves all the good things that will undoubtedly come her way.nnThank you Cripps!
I have had such a great experience with Cripps. Getting GP appointments is very easy with the NHS app and I have never had a delay when waiting for an appointment. I have to say that the contraceptive nurses are so great too. Couldn’t praise high enough!
Great practice as I can get in very quickly esp on the day.- esp if it is an emergency. If having bloods taken the service is very quick. Very clean. The only thing missing is no private rooms if you have had an op.like we had a few years ago!! Staff are brilliant. Parking is not bad too.thankyounIt was the best move coming back.
