Both bikes we hired in topsham had flat batteries. The other bike had its chain hanging off. The representative from co bikes told us to get the bikes to Exeter so he could charge them. Really difficult to undetstand his very strong accent on the poor quality line First snd last time of using. Great shame we had high hopes especially as we know the owner and wanted to support his company Thanks for your reply and I appreciate the reply and explanation and especially the problems in topsham as I live there. There was no excuse for the representative to suggest we take the bikes to Exeter to charge them. The bikes were still there uncharged and the one with the chain off several days later. I do wish you luck with the project as it is brilliant and I hope you can sort out these small problems
I’ve not personally used the co bikes yet, but they look to be a great way to get around Exeter for very reasonable prices. A good location as right next to the tourist and information centre too, quite dense
Superbs bike Let's try once in Jaisalmer I loved it

Would love to give a 5 star review as I really like the idea of this company. But the bikes are almost always unavailable and when looking at the map it is clear why... They are all at the university. On most days there are maybe 6 bikes in the city and about 30+ sitting idle at the uni main campus. I understand that the company is probably just wanting the student money, but it makes the system almost unusable for anyone else. What few bikes aren't sitting at the uni are all fought over by the uber eats delivery staff. I'd be using the bikes about 10 times more if I could reliability find them at the stations, and I'm sure more working exeter residents would too. A little more focus on keeping the network balanced would make this a great company. For now it seems to be mostly a system for students to get to campus. Sadly the students also seem to be the main cause of damaged or mistreated bikes. I'll still support and use the company when possible, as I really appreciate this service. But that is becoming less possible the more the bikes gather dust all day waiting for the students to ride home.
