We booked a room with breakfast on Boxing Day. This was confirmed when we checked in and they told us that breakfast was until 9:30 (later than usual because of the fact it was the festive period I guess). We got down there at 9am and were told the chef had left. The receptionist was super-rude making out that this was a real inconvenience for us and then after some discussion agreed to refund the breakfast price. Upon check-out, she literally changed her mind and said that the rate hadn't included breakfast (in spite of having confirmation the day before as well as when we made the phone booking and our rate being 30 more than another guest who was with us). I asked her to speak to the person from the day before and was dismissed with a 'we'll call you back once we've checked'... which clearly they never bothered to do... I wish I'd not paid in advance! Our friends live in Denshaw and they were fuming and have assured us that they'll be spreading the word! My only advice would be to make sure you don't pay until after your stay!!! Shame really as the rest of the place was really nice and comfy beds. I don't mind mistakes but just being rude and not bothering to investigate their mistake is basically acting pious while stealing.

Thought it was closed when I arrived for my stay Big place but quiet especially when you're the only guest Decent room Good breakfast but I will not be returning

Stayed here for 2nightd. ..rooms lovely and clean bed exceptionally comfortable. ..bathroom very dated..avocado suite and mahogany loo seat...needs updating. ..staff friendly and helpful...altho young girl behind bar did not know her drunks..but still helpful. ..breakfast was adequate but few things forgotten...overall would stay again as value for money and clean

This is now under new management. It was great before, when Tony was in charge, but the new management are nothing more than money grabbing rip off merchants, especially where weddings are concerned. Avoid at all costs.
