Clontarf Castle is a beautifully renovated hotel with an exquisite lobby and lovely Knights Bar. I’ve come here a few times to the bar and to enjoy the grounds but haven’t stayed here so I can’t speak on the hotel service itself. The bar is lovely with a decent menu and great drinks. The fish and chips are good and I enjoy the Bramble cocktail, and of course a great place to get a pint of Guinness. The outside garden is beautiful and a nice place to take a break and walk through. Older crowd and quiet, good place if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Stayed here two nights with family. It was even better than I remember over 20 years ago !! I didn’t realize meals were included so took advantage and we were not disappointed. Such a classy castle with rich history. Thank you for a great stay. Lastly, it was great to walk to a few pubs and restaurants.Rooms: 5/5
What a magical place! Yes it’s a castle, but the renovation makes it incredibly comfortable. The beds were the best we experienced too! The common rooms are incredibly beautiful and add the most charm. Very easy to get to or from Dublin and the airportRooms: 5/5
Clontarf Castle Hotel is truly royal in every way. All who work there are so pleasant and very accommodating. They helped with our plans to see Dublin. In the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner we were well attended to. As I have severe food allergies the chef for dinner created something that was delicious and safe for me. Clontarf Castle hotel was a wonderful stay and an exceptional choice for us
Best place to stay in Dublin. We liked everything about the staff, rooms and location. Knights bar and Fahrenheit Grill were excellent. I didn't get a chance to go to indigo lounge but I am sure it would have been great as well. Rooms were comfortable with all amenities. We even had fun walking around and looking at the art collection. But the staff was awesome. One saw me walking in and knew that I was on an upper floor and hit the elevator button for me. Hard to describe but it showed he knew I was a guest, knew which floor I was on and knew I was going to need the elevator without ever a word spoken. My wife even bonded with a staff member over upcoming Taylor Swift concert. Overall just an excellent place.
This is a great place to stay with exquisite rooms, terrific dining, and unrivaled service. The blending of new architecture and infrastructure into the historic structure is lovely, and I was very glad we chose this as our first destination in Ireland. The grounds are a lovely place to walk and relax in as well. Rooms: Well appointed with great bedding and amenities. Safety: Very safe location with on-site vehicle parking. Food & drinks: I can’t express how good the dining is here. Top-tier doesn’t do it justice.
This is a beautiful castle hotel with easy public transport to the centre of Dublin .The rooms are very clean and the hotel decor is in the castle theme throughout. We are at the knights bar on site and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.Rooms: 5/5
We had a 60th birthday party on Saturday and it was lovely but at the end of the night as DJ packed away as kit a chandelier fell from the ceiling and just missed the DJ, I can only put it down to lack of maintenance and I'm glad no one got seriously hurt. I'm also very glad none of the other chandeliers fell down on us.Rooms: 4/5
I stayed recently at the Clontarf Castle Hotel. The hotel itself is a treasure trove, but the staff truly makes the experience unforgettable. Yvonne and Helen, the housekeepers, were the epitome of friendliness. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests’ comfort made my room feel like a home away from home. Elaine at the Knight’s Inn was equally remarkable, ensuring every meal was a wonderful experience. Her professionalism and hospitality shone through, making the Knight’s Inn a highlight of the hotel’s offerings. Clontarf Castle Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it’s a fun and friendly experience. A heartfelt thank you to Yvonne, Helen, and Elaine for making our visit truly special.
Our stay was everything we hoped and so much more, but I can’t even begin to express what a wonderful hotel this is. This is a luxury hotel experience where their attentive care to guests happens at every step. Even after you leave. I left my wedding ring on the bathroom sink and only realized when I was at the airport. After a quick call and a 30 minute wait they called me back saying they could not find it. That is more any reasonable person could ask for, but when I landed, I received an email informing me that their staff found it. Turns out they checked twice unprompted! and found it on the second try. This hotel is the envy of anyone who we’ve shown it to - even before we left. I’ve been asked by several people where this is and how in the world we found it. The pictures online simply do not do it justice. It made our stay in Dublin unforgettable. Their breakfast buffet is delightful, and so much care and effort was put in the design of the hotel and the guest experience. From the adorable illustrations that honour the history of the castle, to comprehensive booklets, to a tour of their impressive art collection, to the design of the rooms. You will not regret staying here! If the location is a concern, we didn’t have a car, and found walking to nearby places and cabs downtown was perfect. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a cab. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. We definitely see ourselves coming back!
