Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff that provided a good service. I ordered the tasting plate, which came with 4 large sausages lamb and mint, beef, traditional pork and the Clifton. The Clifton sausage was definitely my favourite, followed by the lamb. The beef and traditional pork were nice, but lacked the wow factor for me. The gravy was tasty and the mash was lovely and smooth. The service was a little slow, but overall a lovely place to go and eat and good value for money.
Yummy sausage and more. We couldn't decide which sausages, so we got the tasting plate containing 4 one of each type. Great choice. Their #1 dessert the toffee pudding with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream will take you straight to heaven or hell . Cozy atmosphere, kind and friendly staff. Lifetime Travelmates approved!
It’s real simple - it’s sausage and mash. It’s also real good! There are other options on the menu but that would be rather missing the point. The pigs in blanket and sausage roll starters should not be missed and the coffee was also startlingly excellent it is Clifton after all
Visited for the first time Clifton Sausage during a nice evening on a Saturday. We ordered couple of Tasting Plates but also the Special Sausages of the day. Food was tasty and fresh and arrived relevantly quickly. Staff were kind and helped us to choose our meals. Dessert was extremely tasty, make sure you order the Toffee one!
Food was okay, but nothing special, definitely overpriced for what it is. Small portions as well, hardly any mashed potato and surprisingly the leaf on top didn't make up for that. Service was also slow, we booked for 1:45 and got our food at 2:30. Asked for gravy in a jug rather than on the roast dinner, but they still poured it on and brought it out like a soup. Then they add 10% onto the bill for a tip. If you're hungry, don't go here.
What can I say... Been to a lot of roasts all around bristol, this is top top. Food unreal, service very very good. We also sat outside and they made a lot of effort to pop out even though they were fully booked. Very very very goodFood: 5/5
Walked past this place loads of times .decided to give it a go and wow we were not dissapointed.a lovely atmosphere. Very pleasant staff and great service. The food was cooked perfectly and a very generous serving too .price is also very reasonable.if you like feeling satisfied and like youve eaten beautifull quality food you need to book here .we will be back very soon .
I've tried this dish twice with different sides and it is always fabulous. The gravy sauce is something amazing! Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
My partner booked a table here for Sunday Roast for my birthday and I must say this is the best roast I’m yet to have in Bristol!!! And I’ve been to a lot of spots ! my partner is vegan and they catered for her brilliantly. The food itself was delicious, all well cooked and fantastic quality. The service was brilliant as well, friendly staff and a really nice place. Overall very impressed and will definitely be back
The meal I had here wasn't particularly good, and I don't think I will come back again. The main complaint I had was with the food itself. Whilst the presentation was fine, I thought the salmon spread my starter wasn't very tasty and didn't have much salmon in it either. I also could have done with more bread since it came with only one slice. The main, pork sausage with cheese, wasn't very good either. I ordered sausage since the restaurant is known for its homemade sausage, however this one was too gritty and didn't have much flavour to it. The gravy was also subpar and I could see that it came from a box mix and wasn't homemade like the sausages. Unfortunately the meal just wasn't very appetizing and I don't think I'll eat here again.
