Very saddened to see one of the oldest cider houses in Bristol reduced to selling Thatchers. They were a little shocked when we asked what cask cider they had. Obviously an unknown quantity to them. All very well being opened up and expanded but sad to see it sunk so low.
Hugely disappointing.Definitely not the pub I remember from years gone by. The barman looked mystified when I asked for a pint of dry cider and, hesitating,he served up a medium sweet option. Spent the time in the pub being observed by CCTV camera's; whats going on in our pubs?
I honestly want to say I love this place, but I think now that I'm no longer a student, it just doesn't have the appeal anymore. They still serve the Exhibition cider, and others, and it'll still get you nice and toasted. But it's really young in there. Looks like everyone is barely 18. As a student this didn't bother me of course and we had plenty of crazy nights here, but as a grown up... it just feels like a very studenty venue. Oh well. If you don't mind that and just want to sample great ciders, this is the place. Staff are super lovely as always!
Bossman reminds me a lot of purple aki. Arrived at 9 and was instantly told to leave cos he said i looked like someone else he didn't like. They encourage a 10 pints before 10 but he'll kick anyone out who's remotely drunk and will inspect you when you're on your fag break. It felt really weird. My friend smacked his head cos the floor is an ice rink by 10 but he told us we were being disrespectful when we asked to go back in to grab some toilet paper to mop up his bleeding skull. However, banging night out. would recommend.
Popped in last night having not been for some years and really disappointed, dirty, sticky, toilets resembled a rugby team changing rooms at full time! The place was dull to be honest , left beer wasn’t comfy to sit and drink
Corponation tap?? I would say sticky tap is a better name... So dirty... Bathrooms are super clean though... Photos attached. At least they have a bad choice of cider...hehhehe
Love this place for cider... let's get it busy again... came to visit this time from Spain with my girlfriend... she loved it too... cheers
This is the worst pub in Bristol. They encourage a ‘10 before 10’ challenge and then kick anyone out who is remotely drunk due to this, including those of us who just want to come to the pub. Please do not come here as the bouncers and bartenders will not let you in if you have paid and enjoyed the drinks at the pub. Also ants crawling over the bar. Thank you. Michael
Will update this review once I actually go in. Me and my partner went down on a Sunday late afternoon to see that it's closed on a Sundays now but on their Google Business opening hours it says open on Sunday 7-11pm. I have heard many good things about this pub so will update the rating when I go there and when they update that they're not open on Sundays
Oh dear, what a dirty pub. Noticed the smell on entering but it developed further in the 10 minutes we stayed. It smelt as if they had mopped the grants urinals then used the same mop to clean the rest of the pub. Won't go back.
