We hired the restaurant here for the drinks reception and meal for our wedding here this summer and it was brilliant! All the staff - every single one, reception, management and servers - were extremely friendly and helpful. The building is beautiful, the food was great, they pulled out the stops for some picky children. Highly recommend!
Very nice spot, private cozy space. We DJ here for a 30th birthday party, and was offered some food. There was a some Caribbean options on the menu like rice and peas and jerk chicken. So, it was not authentic as the rice and peas needed so much more ingredients like coconut cream, thyme etc. and the jerk was just seasoned chicken breast. Jerk seasoning is not just a flavour it includes so much more, its how the chicken is marinated, cooked and obviously tastes. We would visit again and try something different. The bar staff are amazing!
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Visiting family in Bristol and was taken here. Ballotine of wild Boar and duck liver to start was an amazing texture.
We had our Christmas party here and overall was a great night. For a mass produced Christmas party...it's easily the best that I've had in Bristol. Only managed to snap the desert because it was all so good. I had Game terrine for start and Turkey for main aswell as the tirimisu pictured...all of which were bangin'. The cocktails were also really great....but a little bit pricey at £12 for an old fashioned
Booked a Christmas party here for 28 people. The venue is perfect, the outdoor area and the secret garden extends the bar and it’s a lovely space. The meal was good quality with friendly fast service. The low review is because the drinks were very expensive, we put a tab behind the bar and it was gone in 30 minutes. But the real issue is that they had so many people in on the night different groups the bar was shoulder to shoulder packed. To compound the problem they closed the outdoor space early. I watched a member of staff fall face first with a bucket of ice and lime, he stood up swearing and shouting about the lack of fire escapes because so many people were packed in shoulder to shoulder. Even the staff recognised that it was dangerously over packed. It made the evening completely impossible. To compound this we paid for a suite in the partner hotel to stay in, got down for breakfast at 10am and was told breakfast finished at 9.30am. We couldn’t get so much as a coffee after having nearly 30 people in and paying for a suite. Not great! It’s a shame as the venue is perfect, they just got greedy with the bookings. It needed about half the number that they had booked in.
We had our wedding at the square club in early October and my gosh what a day it was! Everyone at the square certainly deserves a bonus cause they are just fantastic. Niamh was brilliant at helping me with planning and esuring the day ran smoothly with her team. The food is also excellent. It really made our day. If you want a intimate wedding with a big party, the square is exactly where you should host it. Its beautiful and fun! We will be back for dinner soon!!
Thoughtful and friendly staff thanks manager Hannah, friendly environment, stunning food we had a 2 course meal and it was a lovely fine dining experience and overall just a very pleasant evening worth returning for. We experienced a very thoughtful evening last night. I booked a table for 5 for a birthday meal inside the Square Kitchen. The restaurant was closed for a wedding booking downstairs, but very kindly honoured our booking after receiving my online booking for a birthday dinner : When we arrived, our table was very nicely set out and we were welcomed with bday prosecco drinks, which we thought was special. We highly recommend this to anyone and will be returning with more friends and family soon :
V poor veggie Xmas Dinner, and at 40 quid per person, they wouldn't even bring us extra bread for the table! Could have been more creative than a wedge of lentil Wellington and a slice of kale. Also drinks prices were hilarious- 12 for a g and t! Had us crammed in to a room with other companies Xmas parties, so was really loud and felt intrusive
Great venue for any type of function! Spent NYE there and I would definitely do it again next year! It is a private members club. The vibe is very posh and elegant but can come across as snobby but I could easily see myself joining. Benefits are great. Food and drink were covered in the cosy of the ticket, therefore I am unable tell you the costs. The staff were extremely friendly.
The Square Club were absolutely brilliant for our 3 course private dinner!! The food, service, drinks, and all the information and help provided prior to the evening was just exceptional. The team made sure the evening ran smoothly and according to plan, and were just so friendly, I highly recommend them!!
