I did four courses last year and finished Meisner in Jan. I've had such a great time. Alex is very good at creating a welcoming and safe environment for us to explore the key elements of acting. Classes were relaxed but structured with lots of thoughtful activities and supportive feedback. I also enjoyed the process of rehearsing for a play and then performing it in front of an audience. Russell taught me about the roles of director and actor. All the courses were a great way to learn, use our imagination and think creatively - all while helping to build confidence, curiosity, and connection. Lots of mental health benefits too. I can not recommend enough!
The beginners and intermediate courses really improved my confidence and made me more aware of myself, which were my main motivations for signing up. Alex was a very kind and patient instructor, never pressuring us to give more than we wished to in class. By putting us at ease this way, I certainly felt he brought out a more relaxed, calmer version of myself, that I felt able to tap into again in other areas of life - work settings, for example. I would highly recommend anyone to give one of these courses a try, I would definitely love to do more in the future!
I just finished the beginners acting class with Alex and I would highly recommend! I've done a bit of acting in the past, but I still got a lot out of the 7 week course. Alex is a great instructor, I really enjoyed his teaching style and the way he approaches acting. The class was a very safe space. Overall, it was a lovely way to spend a Tuesday night and i'll definitely be doing another course with City Acting!
Just finished Beginner's class and I'm already looking forward to the next ones, great place to learn in an accepting and encouraging environment, got to do improv and scene work despite being a beginner's class. All appraisals shall go to Alex, amazing tutor, a pleasant person above all, giving accurate feedback after carefully observing.
I completed five courses at City Acting last year and absolutely loved each one — I couldn’t recommend this school more. The teachers are wonderful and have met so many lovely people while doing these classes.

Just one word for my experience with City Acting... AMAZING!! I had the pleasure to be taught by Alex on both the Beginners course and the Communication course. Alex is patient, gives positive constructive feedback, teaches with structure and explains everything amazingly well. Most of all; Alex has made both times super fun and inclusive for us all. If you are considering taking the step to book with City Acting, I cannot recommend it enough!!
I have completed 4 courses at City Acting and found them all amazing. Meeting lovely people is always a bonus, and there were many, but the tutor, Alex, is inspirational. He creates a safe space where you really can be yourself and explore feelings and emotions. I thought I'd gone for acting classes, but actually they were more and I developed as a person too! I know it helped others build self-confidence. I have been to Beginners, Character Building, Intermediate and Meisner. Each one developed my skills in different ways, but most importantly becoming more real and more in touch with my feelings. Meisner isn't acting as such, but the exercise is such an amazing way of opening up within. The classes have been so successful for me that I have landed myself a part in a play for KDC theatre, a non-professional charity. I really couldn't have done this without the classes and without Alex's support. It's all been life changing. Go, go, go!
I have now done 2 courses with City Acting and probably won't stop there! I did the first course because I was looking to try something new that would take me out of my comfort zone, and teach me a thing or two about myself. A friend recommended it, and it was fantastic! We had a great teacher, and the group was really fun and friendly; very diverse in every aspect, everyone was open which allowed us all to experiment creatively, and I have made some good friends as a result. I would definitely recommend you all do some of these courses
I have followed several courses with City Acting and I really loved it.The teachers are really enthusiastic and passionate and have devised engaging and fun courses in a relaxed atmosphere. They have different type of courses for everyone, from all levels and ranging from exploring a play to improvisation. The times are flexible and venues are easy to get to, which makes it very easy when you work full-time to get to. But most of all, it's great fun!
