Visited for the first time in many years to see Heretic. Cheerful staff, but disappointing picture quality; the film seemed unfocussed and the scenes in the dark and this film has a lot of dark scenes were a murky grey mess - I suspect the lamp needs turning up. I'd been considering seeing Gladiator II there as well, but decided to go with the nearby Broadway instead. This was the right decision; their presentation was immaculate.
For the most part, it's an adequate cinema, some of the staff are great, others are quite rude, it's a bit of a mixed bag in that respect. Half of them are really slow on concessions too, and they will regularly allow people to push in the queue, getting served before people who've been waiting for 10-15 minutes, and won't do anything when you point that out to them.nnScreens 1 and 2 are remarkably uncomfortable to sit in as the seats are very rigid, with no give, meaning you have to sit up perfectly straight, not being able to relax in any way. Other screens are ok, but unless you're in one of the bigger screens, such as screen 3, 8, or 10, you can feel a bit cramped in, not helped by constantly being in screens with weirdos who, despite having the entire screen to pick from, choose a seat that's right next to you, and these people are never quiet either.nnThe way that the unlimited showings are run is chaotic, with the screen often not opening until two or three minutes before the adverts are due to start, regardless of the queue length, and they constantly allow on a woman on a motorised wheelchair to very literally barge others out of the way, and she has run over my foot at least twice.nnAlso, if you're in the first film of the day in a particular screen, be prepared to have to go out of the screen to ask them to either turn the cleaning lights off, or to turn the sound on. I can't recall the last time I was in there before midday that didn't involve me having to go out to ask them to do either of those things.
We always come here for our movie night and enjoy the experience. The staff are friendly and all the screens are clean. Easy access to the car park and city centre and other places.nOnly one downsize, women toilet is clean but every hand soap dispenser is empty
Every time I go here annoying students will talk through the entire movie LOUDLY and ruin it for everyone else.nOr be on there phones!nAnd what happens when you go tell staff? Nothing! They do not care or are cowards.nAnd refused to give me a refund. It's this reason why cinemas are dying because you allowed this appalling behaviour whilst people who just want to watch the movie LEAVE or won't come back
Nice experience although the movie was 35 minutes late & the level of the volume prior to the movie we were seeing was exceptionally high, it really was, fingers crossed it was a one-off as we'll be visiting again next week.
