Excellent service from the nurses at A&E yesterday when I had to rush my son in with a severe wound to his right hand/arm caused by an electric saw.

The nurses were so helpful and couldn’t do enough to ease his pain and check every thing before he was transferred to Preston for surgery.

Well done and a very grateful thanks from all his family.

You know who you are.

My mum went by ambulance with a suspected stroke. On arrival in A&E, we had to queue with others in a corridor with the ambulance staff until they had been handed over to the nurses. After three and a half hours in the corridor my mum got assessed by a nurse and blood taken. Then taken to a waiting area where we was told there was a further five and half hours wait to see the Doctor. From start to finish the total hours at A&E was 10 hours.
Whilst waiting we saw people arrive by ambulance with stomach problems and one with a cut lip. These could have easily come by other means.
The whole department was a mess and disorganised.
One consolatition is that a member of staff came around with free tea coffee and sandwiches.

just been in Blackburn hospital again for another operation.  from start to finish they could not have been more caring or attentive. I have nothing other than respect and admiration for the staff at this hospital thanks again

Had a short stay with my 10 month old son recently. Cannot fault the hospital, doctors, consultants, peadiatricians and most of the nurses. They were all fantastic. Apart from 1 nurse on Bside. Salma i think she was called. Constantly had a smirk on her face. Didnt really know what she was talking about. And started trying to contradict me when i was telling her about my son's possible milk allergy! It scares me to think that someone like her is nursing!!!!

The only safe advice I can give is go to any other hospital, staff who treat you for most part are OK, but the rest is chos.
