Chelsea Bridge is a lovely bridge to get from Chelsea to Battersea or the other way around by car, bus, walking or cycling. There is a generous walkway on both sides and a pedestrian pass through under the Battersea side of the bridge. You will see the bridge from the banks of the Thames and from the sister bridges on the river. There is also a great view of the bridge from the Lift 109 experience at Battersea Power Station. The bridge is lit at night and is quite lovely. When going from the north bank of the Thames to get to the Southbank there is easy access by whichever mode of transport you are using.
One of the nicest bridges in London! I love the lights on it and I love coming here in the golden hour! You are greeted with a beautiful view of the Thames and on the other side you also have a railway bridge! It is fantastic! I'd highly recommend a look around the bridge and Battersea itself! It is absolutely stunning!
Chelsea Bridge has some great views, especially if Battersea Power Station Southeast and Battersea park Southwest. I suggest going at night when the bridge is lit up when it looks really special, although quite a few of the lights don’t work / haven’t been replaced by the council.
Looks better at night when it's lit up. Your gateway to Battersea and the park
A little run down sadly. Area around it in particular Battersea Power Station is AMAZING and a must visit. The park is also nice and some lovely little quirky shops and coffee shops in Pimlico, which is on the other side of the bridge.
One of my favourite brides . Really enjoyable also for a walk towards the park. I love the view of the battersea power station and some skyscrapers on the one side and the lighted bridge on the other. Sometimes when I cross the bridge I feel like I am in a US city I mean it’s kind of posh, magical, nice lighting. Sometimes the road is busy so drivers be ready..
A beautiful bridge that was the first self-anchored suspension bridge in the UK. It looks particularly attractive in the evening when it is floodlit from below. You might be interested to know that Chelsea was not the bridge's first name. As Albert Bridge was placed further upstream, Victoria should have been the preferred name choice. Unfortunately, the original bridge was not well designed and was prone to collapse. It would have been embarrassing if no scandalous for a failed bridge to be associated with the monarch and hence the change of name.
Absolutely in Love with this beautiful bridge at night, in morning hours, late evening or during buzzing daytime. Chelsea Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames in west London, connecting Chelsea on the north bank to Battersea on the south bank, and split between the City of Westminster, the London Borough of Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. On 31 March 1858 Queen Victoria, accompanied by two of her daughters and en route to the formal opening of Battersea Park, crossed the new bridge and declared it officially open. 31 March is my birthday no more questions regarding why I do love this bridge much. I am sharing with you the beautiful view and snowy moments we did experienced in December 2022 in London
Walkable, kind of pretty at night, relatively clean, but there is some random Chinese graffiti on there in red already. Why can't people keep their hands off a clean wall? Ugh it's not even for a good cause or aesthetic in any way
It is a useful bridge getting you across the Thames and is convenient for one end of Battersea Park, giving good views of the Peace Pagoda and Battersea Power Station.
