Went in to choose a watch for myself as a gift from OH. Wasn't sure what type I actually wanted. The male staff member was very helpful and patient. He explained the diffent clasps on the watches and how to adjust them. I chose a slightly more expensive one not pushed into the saleand a stretch one. It was a bit big, so another staff member took out the extra links which only took about 10 minutes while OH dealt with payment. Really great service. A good selection of products and confident that if there are any issues, we will get the same service in dealing with them.
I recently went into the Swindon outlet store to purchase my new engagement ring since my original one had broken. The staff were so helpful and patient with me trying on multiple rings and eternity rings. Talking me through the different type of rings and the care they will need. The staff have recently had a change over and are really trying to turn it around. I look forward to coming back in the future!

I went in looking to purchase a watch. I greeted the staff upon entry but didn’t receive one back which I thought was odd. I then asked to see a couple of watches that were in the window. I didn’t feel welcome in the store and like I was being a nuisance by asking to see things. Sadly, the product I asked to see the staff had absolutely no knowledge about. Both of them even admitted they’d never picked up and looked at it even though it was a duel case and strap item, neither of them knew how to change it over. They were trying to force the accessories onto the watch and potentially damaging it. I tried to explain that I know how the watch comes apart as I own many watches, but they didn’t seem interested in listening to me. They then had to take the watch out the back to change over the strap and the case which made me feel like they couldn’t do it in front of me as they might damage the watch. It got to the point where I knew I wasn’t going to purchase anything from them due to the bad customer service and potential damage to the item. This is a real shame as I literally made a purchase in the Clarks village store the previous day and was completely satisfied with service and product I received from them. Disappointing to see as I really wanted to buy the watch they had in store, but I have since purchased it elsewhere as I wasn’t confident about the quality of the product or the service I was receiving.
Do not buy from these scam artists, back in august i have bought a necklace from them for my girlfriend which after not even a whole day of wearing has easily snapped without pulling on it. I came back to the store and they have turned me away saying its out fault, and that apparently the 2 year manufacture warrenty is only applicable on the clip of the necklace, never shopping their again, terrible quality for a big price
Went in to Swindon branch to get a copy of the receipt of purchase which I made as I lost the original one. I was informed on the phone guy who confirmed with my name and address that he is able to give me a copy of the receipt of I pop in to the store. I went in there today 27-05-2023, a lady who refused to give me her name and said she is the store manager refused to give me the receipt copy and said they don’t give receipt copy when I asked for it and she even said “don’t be funny” in a rude way. That’s not a store manager would serve a customer and I don’t even know if she is the store manager as she had ko name badge visible for customers to see. Rude and unprofessional staff!
They damaged the back of my watch quite badly which has lifetime battery replacement. They admitted they had used the incorrect tools because the Swindon Outlet shop doesn't have the tool for a glass domed watch. They tried charging me £60 for their mistake. Timpson's fixed it for £7, there and then, and advised that this company has basically used a screwdriver to pry open the watch, causing multiple deep scratches on it. Customer service was really rude and unprofessional when I reported this to them and when confronted with the evidence they just simply stopped replying. Just look at the other reviews below, take your business elsewhere.
Awful customer service from Chapelle and it's main company F.Hinds. I was given a silver belcher necklace as a Christmas gift. After wearing it for one day the C clasp broke. Customer service said that whilst it had a warranty, it may be deemed as customer damage 1 day!!. They said they could only assist if I returned the item at my own cost/long journey to then have it sent away for assessment. This is something that they could have rectified so easily. I have never had such awful customer service from a jeweller.
HORRIFICALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE Nice looking shop, nice looking products. Don’t be misled. When you have a problem you will work them out very quickly and not in a good way. Customer services are basically people dishing out a couple of standard responses telling you almost no matter what’s happened it’s the customers fault! Refund refused, they will reluctantly repair poor quality, as an act of goodwill!!! They have repaired my wife’s gold bracelet 4 times in 7 months.We were even told perhaps my wife shouldn’t wear her £400 bracelet so often to stop it breaking so much. Avoid at all costs, I would happily pay more to deal with a decent company. Managed to track down one of the Directors of Hinds, to be told sorry he doesn’t talk to customers. Says it all.
