We visited Chaophraya after seeing it had won the Yorkshire 'Best World Restaurant' awards 2023, so were eager to give it a try! We booked our table for 6:30 but were running late. We called the restaurant to let them know, which was no problem at all and our table remained reserved. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff that showed us to our table and gave us the food and drinks menu. There is so much choice on the food menu, something for everyone, there is even a vegetarian section which you don’t always see. To start, we decided to go for the vegetable spring rolls and the chicken spring rolls to share, these came with a sweet chilli sauce which and were so tasty, and we're packed with fillings! For the mains, we both had the sweet and sour papaya chicken. Again the mains were so tasty and were presented beautifully. At first I was a little hesitant about the papaya being in the sweet and sour chicken but actually it went really well! The chicken was also cooked to perfection, full of flavour and coated in a really crispy but light batter. The sticky rice was also perfect! Although we were offered the desserts menu, we were so full from the starter and mains that we decided not to have a dessert, although there are some really good options! Overall, we were really impressed with this experience and can appreciate why it is an award winning restaurant, we would definitely return again!

An excellent place, great ambiance and with Halal Chicken and Duck as well as very good selection of Veg options. Cherry on top excellent service. Alex was polite, friendly -and extremely knowledgeable making ordering and whole experience a pleasant one. If in doubt ask for Alex Parking: There is Trinity Car Park just behind it so not a problem at all.
Very poor food! Chicken Green Curry only had 4 pieces of thinly cut chicken around 50mm long 20mm wide, 5mm thick. This is just a guess , I'm an engineer, I don't think I'm far off the mark... Three of my party had Sea Bass non of my guests could finish eating the dish. The only reasonable dish was the steak... We enjoyed the starters far more. I/we have been dining here since it opened but haven't visited since before CO-VID. What a disappointment, I should have listened to friends who said the quality of food had gone down badly. Sorry Chaophraya but you failed to deliver the quality food you used to serve and we were expecting. Your food looked good! On the plus side, staff were excellent and accommodating - well done to them. I will have to cross you off my list!
Dishes prepared to a high quality. Generous portions. Would strongly recommend the pork skewers served with that delicious sauce. Excellent service and a well decorated restaurant, suitable for a special night out.
Great choice of food and a really modern atmosphere - we were served by Will and he was really engaging and helpful and was able to provide help with any queries we had on the menu. Would certainly like to come back again.Food: 5/5
We visited here on a cold and wet Sunday evening but still impressed by the quality of the surroundings. If I had any complaints, it was a little cold in there however there was a plausible reason for this so I have not reduced the scores. The main thing was the quality of the food and the service. Both were extremely high end as were their festive cocktails and cannot wait to return.
Beautiful place with beautiful food, the portion was very reasonable and more importantly very filling & satisfying aswell as quality . The staff our very friendly & welcoming and happy to help . I love the interior and how it all looks its very clean and cosy I will certainly be returning soon.Food: 5/5

One of my favourite restaurants in Leeds and it has to be part of the top Thai restaurants in the UK. The food is absolutely delicious. The service is great. And the atmosphere is very cosy. Highly recommended, particularly in the Leeds location as that is the very first and original Chaophraya restaurant. Khop khun krub!Food: 5/5
