Great place - never been to a Center Parcs before, but came with friends and 2 dogs. Great. So much to do its amazing. Bit expensive if you want to do a lot of activities and eat and drink out all the time, but if you bring your own food and drink its great. Staff in every location are amazing. Bit hilly for a manual wheelchair. recommend and electric scooter if you have a a disability. Sign posts can be a bit misleading so bring your walking boots and be willing to make a few wrong turns!. Bit of a wait to get in on the 1st day in the car. Generally no cars on site during your stay. We did go out in the car for the day to Keswick, which was lovely and you can move your car on and off site from the main car park. Thanks to Donald Security on the main gate for telling us to go to The Lakeside Theatre for brunch - very tasty.nnWell Done to all the kind and friendly staff, especially Lydia in Entertainment Hive, Lucca in the bar and Joe from Porthcawl - amazing service. Also the last night meal in Bella Italia was may most memorable by our beautiful waitress Polly from Russia - 5 STARS.
A fantastic and well established holiday resort with almost everything you would want and need on a holiday in the Lake District. The lodge we stayed in Seven Pines was fully equipped with 4 ensuite bedrooms - two with jacuzzi baths and an infra-red therapy room like a sauna but with 8 infra-red heaters which is absorbed and heals the body. TVs in each bedroom, central heating radiators, comfortable beds, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, log fire in the living area with TV and DVD player. The TV does NOT have YouTube just Freeview and access to a local nature camera which pans around the forest and zooms into various wildlife areas. Each lodge has its own smoke/fire alarm system, wifi throughout which is suitably fast enough for everyone to use and even stream a 4k movie. Towels and bedding are provided. You just need your own towel for the pool or pay £3 to hire one each time. You'll need your own toiletries, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets 3 are provided free but we needed more. Good waterproof footwear is advisable during the wet months if you intend to take a shortcut through the trees, but if you intend to keep to the clean roads and paths you'll be fine with regular footwear. All cars are to be kept on the main car park, except for loading and unloading or if you have a blue badge. Cycles are available to hire at very reasonable prices. We hired fantastic electrically assisted bikes for £68 for the full 5 day duration of our stay highly recommended. There are plenty of shops on site and many restaurants and activities for everyone.
In the middle of a Forest, what isn't to love? We have been here at least 10 times now over the years.nThe grounds are beautiful, amazing birds, red squirrels, deer and if your lucky a badger or 2.nOne of the best things about the lodges is though some are attached. You do not hear a peep from the neighbours.nThe facilities are great and are not too badly priced. A large choice of activities too. There will be a lot of walking involved but that is just part of the experience.nWhinfel is not too far from Penrith and a bit further out is Keswick about 36 minutes, well worth a visit. Keswick is stunning even in bad weather.nThere is bike hire including electric bikes and bikes for people with differing abilities.nThe pennine way is also just a short drive away and if you are a keen trail runner like myself you won't want to miss that opportunity.nYou won't be disappointed and although its an expensive break away, its worth every penny.
Just back from 5 days in Whinfell Forest, this was my first time in a Center Parcs site. nI was impressed with the amount of activities on offer! However did find some of the activities on the pricey side. My tip is to do short tennis and badminton in the morning or evening as it is less expensive Be aware that the whole site is cashless.nI was with a party of 4 in one of the beachwood lodges, it was a little cramped. However we did spend most of our time out the lodge during the day.nWe loved the sauna and hot tub. When we arrived a lot of the dishes were still dirty . However this was an easy fix. We weren't left a lot of bin bags and dishwasher tablets.nThe supermarket had everything we needed and was affordable.nIn the evening we did struggle a bit with finding our way back to our accommodation as the lighting wasn't amazing. I would recommend bringing a head torch nFinding a space to load all our bags into the car when leaving the site was a little difficult as it seemed everyone was trying to leave at the same time and were taking up most of the spacesnWe left the site one of the days to visit Keswick, which was nice to look around the shops and stopping at a coffee shop
If you want a mini break with a little bit of escapism from the working regime, with little mobile signal and no cars or driving for a few days, look no further!nGreat fun for couples, families and groups. You can even bring your well behaved dogs!nThe new Entertainment Hive is perfect fun for all, high levels of competitivity amongst family & friends, we have loved the interactive putify, shuttleboard & darts!!nSwimming on tap.nFabulous food in all locations & the accommodation has everything you could need.nWe saw 2 red squirrels in the first 24 hours, nice walks and meeting like minded people.nScalp massage at Aqau Sana was my treat, whilst my husband took on the aerial adventure with zip wire over the lake.nWe've been visiting here for almost 30 years and Whinfell Oasis is still a firm favourite for us all.
