Traditional pub and well worth a visit. Friendly staff accompanied us to our pre booked table on Sunday afternoon. We choose the 2 course Sunday Roast which was superb. Good portions. We had a starter and main course sadly no space left for dessert. The refurbishing looks fab and very fitting for the old pub. The Kings Arms Hotel is I think our closest pub to our new home so no doubt we are looking forward to returning. Thank You for a lovely Sunday Lunch.
Traditional pub set in the village of Temple Sowerby in the beautiful countryside around Penrith. We stayed in a double room which while still retains traditional features, has been fully modernised. The bed was so comfortable that I'm tempted to say it's the best nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel! There is a dining area alongside a more traditional bar area, and both have lovely modern furniture and fittings. We had an extremely filling breakfast that kept us going right until teatime! But the evening we ate again and chose a burger, which was stuffed with tasty burger and toppings. The staff were friendly and nothing seemed to be too much for them to help out with. Booking is recommended as we seen a number of people turned away without reservations, as it seemed to be very popular. Next time we`re up in the Lakes, we'll sure to be heading back! Rooms: Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Super comfy bed!
Went for tea there last night, 6 of us all ate from the lite bites menu and it was fantastic. Service from Alison was great, very friendly and great value for money. Will defo be returning soon. Food & drinks: Great food and service
What a beautiful boutique hotel, staff very friendly and give a family welcome vibe, room was lovely and immaculate. Set in beautiful countryside and was perfect for my putt stop driving south from ScotlandRooms: 5/5
Really friendly and helpful staff with efficient service and amazing food. We didn't expect anything special, so genuinely pleased with everything we tried - Prawn cocktail and gin smoked salmon starters, scampy and Texan beef chilli mains, ice cream and poached pear for dessert. Good value, would definitely recommend. Food & drinks: Brilliant food!
Called in for an evening meal with my partner. We were greated by lovely friendly staff members and made to feel very welcome. Food was excellent and we had three courses. Very good standard of cooking, excellent portions and reasonably priced. We were very impressed and would highly recommend a stop here.
Traditional pub and well worth a visit. Friendly staff accommodated us for a table on a Sunday evening and food was superb. Good portions, freshly prepared and steak and ale pie was the best I have had. Sounds silly to say but was full of very tender, melt in your mouth steak unlike so many I have had before. Vegetables cooked to perfection and chips really tasty. Great dessert menu. Just wish I had had room to try one.
We stayed here, in a family room, for one night. The room was very clean and there was the usual touches you'd expect - tea/coffee/biscuits/toiletries, etc. There was a TV albeit very small. We ate an evening meal in the restaurant where the choice and quality of food was excellent, and the service was great too. Our breakfast was, again, delicious. The village is quiet and there's nothing to do there but it's a short drive to Appleby and Penrith. The price was very competitive and we would definitely stay here again for one night if the journey warranted it, but we personally wouldn't stay for a longer holiday. However I would recommend it to anyone.
Visited tonight whilst on holiday. Kings Arms was recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing and good value for money. The chicken, leek and bacon pie was amazing and hubby loved his fish. Staff were lovely and attentive. Would highly recommend this lovely place.Service: 5/5
Lovely hotel with amazing staff. Only stayed for one night but were treated very well some hotels don't like one nighters Room was a little noisy, as it seemed to be above the bar, and had lots of people passing after we had settled, and before we rose. We could have done with a lighter duvet as it was very warm in the night. We ate in the bar, and the food was really good. 4 drinks between us and a 3 course meal for just over £60 so decent prices in my opinion. Worth a visit, but maybe ask for rooms 4,5 or 6 as they may be quieter
