What a lovely hotel. Stayed for 1 night as we were going to a gig at the barony hall as part of the Celtic connections festival which was literally on the opposite side of the cathedral square. The room was immaculate and very beautiful. Had great views of the cathedral and over huge parts of Glasgow from the bedroom windows. We had breakfast in the restaurant celentanos wise was excellent. All ingredients were fresh and so delicious. My partner had forgotten to bring the charger for her iPhone and the phone was running low on charge but Laura came to the rescue by giving us borrow her phone charger to allow the phone to get a decent charge to last the rest of our trip. Highly recommend staying here, great location and will stay again.
Great room and interesting view of the necropolis! A bit out of the centre but an ok location. Hard to comment on the service as Mondays are self service - no restaurant and no breakfast.Rooms: 5/5
The room was cute and comfortable, with incredible views and an amazing bathroom. The design of everything is top notch. Breakfast was simple, but incredible and impeccably executed. I'm still thinking about the toast. And the bar downstairs is perfect. The owner was accommodating and just generally lovely. Highly recommend. Noteworthy details: Where else can you see the necropolis from your bed?
We stayed in room 4, which had a great view of the cathedral just across the street. The service was excellent, we were so happy with our stay! Breakfast was homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade sourdough and coffee. Everyone was very friendly, would definitely stay here again! Thank you!! Rooms: Room 4 has an amazing view, very comfortable. Does have lots of street noise, recommend a white noise machine for light sleepers. Nearby activities: The cathedral and necropolis were right across the street, and tons of restaurants nearby Walkability: The cathedral and necropolis were right across the street, and tons of restaurants nearby Food & drinks: Breakfast was lovely, homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, homemade sourdough toast and coffee
This small 8 room hotel is ideally situated in the Glasgow Cathedral area which is a magical place to be. The host Laura is amazing and the associated restaurant has been awarded a Michelin badge…the food is excellent! Highly recommend staying here.Rooms: 5/5
Really disappointed with this hotel. We were due to visit Glasgow for a gig on Saturday and had booked to stay here. Unfortunately the gig was postponed at the last minute on Friday afternoon, so we no longer wanted to travel a fair distance from Newcastle, given this was the main purpose of our trip. Given the late postponement, we could no longer cancel our reservation for free and the hotel explained that they could not make an exception to their policy as they are a small family-run hotel with rising costs - okay fair enough, totally appreciate that. We then hoped to at least come to a compromise whereby we could keep our reservation for a future date which we had already prepaid for. We felt this was a reasonable request, given the circumstances, however this was swiftly declined with no further explanation. So now we not only have the disappointment of the gig postponement but are also £160 out of pocket. The hotel themselves stated they are small family-run business but we saw none of the service that we'd expect from somewhere like that, with clearly no regard for future repeat business and positive recommendations.
Can't say much about the service as it was self check in, but got all the details on email and it was no problem. Room was so cosy and the bathroom was absolutely lovely with a nice shower. Didn't see any ghosts but enjoyed the necropolis right across the street.Rooms: 5/5
Cool boutique hotel across the Glasgow cathedral and necropolis. Try and get room 4, it has a great view of the cathedral. Breakfast is included in the restaurant downstairs which is Michelin Bib Gourmand. Breakfast choice is limited, but the coffee is really good.Rooms: 5/5
After a let down with alternative accommodation Laura came to my rescue the day before my parents were due to visit Glasgow for the night. She was the friendliest of hosts and was super accommodating to my requests she even let me into the room early to add some birthday decorations before my parents arrived. This only added to a brilliant experience of a gorgeous room with an amazing view, in a great location and at a very fair price.
We’re local to the area and went to try out the beautiful looking beer garden which had been newly refurbished and decorated. Although it has a lovely atmosphere the service could definitely be improved. They have implemented a one way system and also provide table service which is good, however, the table we were sat at clearly hadn’t been wiped and had rings and spills on it. We had one drink and would have had more if anyone had come round to the beer garden at any point which I would have expected especially since it wasn’t busy. I feel this is a shame as it is a lovely place and we would be there regularly if the service was more attentive.
