I can only really review the reception desk as that was as far as we got before being turned away. Our small VW camper does not have side windows so this contravened site rules. We found this odd as we've camped all over Ireland and Europe in it and never had a problem so possibly the rules need updated to accommodate diverse modern camping vehicles which aren't 20ft long and being towed by an estate car driven by a elderly couple. So we were forced to drive five minutes back down the road and stay in a really friendly site with great pitches on the Loch side. So in summery I would say that I would not recommend this site but the reception desk was very tidy and well presented👍

We admittedly arrived rather late, around 10pm. We've checked the reviews before (didn't read in detail which I now regret) and tried to find a campsite that wasn't as crowded so we could set up in a nice spot. Everything was fine at first, a lady working there asked if we needed help, then I paid. Then, a second employee, who seemed to be more familiar with fees and rules, showed up and he turned grumpy fast. After telling us to set up at a specific spot right next to the garbage cans, we asked if we could set up closer to the water away from the smell. At this point we already paid, we've been on the road for about 6 hours and had spent the last couple of days camping and such - what I'm trying to say is, we were pretty exhausted and just wanted to get some sleep. His reply was (and I don't think we'll forget that fast cause it became a running gag on our trip): This is ridiculous, I'm off duty. I already told you where to set up. I should add that the campsite was pretty much empty, 5-6 tents were set up at the most. We didn't care cause we were exhausted but this review is the result. Other than that it was a nice campsite: facilities were in good condition, plenty of showers, the usual way-too-hot-water that you'll get on Scottish campsites apparently, a shop with the essentials, little unfortunate that you couldn't park your car next to your tent. But in the end, service matters and even if your campsite is beautiful, treating your guests like you don't care whether they stay or leave just doesn't reflect well on your business. I really didn't know what to make of his attitude, but as I said, we've had a long day too and we didn't snap at him. Maybe don't work this type of job if you can't handle it.

Our second time here, we love it. Staff are friendly and helpful, all facilities are well maintained. We had a Loch pitch and the view in the morning was just stunning

I'm leaving a review here, as the reviews on the website are so obviously filtered to show only the good ones. We have been camping for many years, all over Europe and the UK, and this is by far the worst site we have encountered. Our party of four adults ( all in our forties ) plus our two dogs arrived at the site after booking online for two nights. Our fee was a total of £97.00 so not the cheapest site by a long shot, however the facilities looked good and we had seen the site recently mentioned in a top ten newspaper review. Upon arrival we were told we could just pitch anywhere within a central zone for tents. We struggled to find a decent space for our two four man tents ( which we had been assured at the time of booking we could pitch together ), but finally managed to squeeze them in next to the recycling bins on a reasonably level stony patch of ground under some mature trees. The ground was so hard we had to resort to buying screw in pegs - which the camp site shop 'helpfully' stocked for £14.99 a pack. Once pitched there was only one space for our cars in the car park ( again we had indicated at the time of booking that we would have two cars ) and were offered no other space to park, despite the rules stating that we couldn't do so next to our tent. The next day we arrived back with the dogs after a lovely walk and, after one of the dogs which had been enjoying a free off-lead run wandered into the shop, were rudely accused by the owner of not having leads for them despite me digging for the lead in my bag and being more than polite. This campsite is plastered with rules and regulations, which most responsible people don't need to be honest, however there seems to be no one ensuring that we aren't kept awake till well past 2am on both nights by rowdy campers. On the Saturday we endured an entire day of noisy grass cutting, which could have been better done when the site was less full? The actual shower and toilet facilities were fine, and the shop well stocked, but bottom line is this is an overpriced campsite run by rude and unhelpful staff ( specifically the lady and gentleman in charge - I use these terms loosely! ) who seem to treat tent owners like second class citizens. My advice - go elsewhere!

Beautiful location but the campsite it's self needs some money putting back into it. It was raining and the site was flooded. This was are last stop after 7 nights in Scotland and none of the other campsites where like this. The path are not tarmac so they where just mud. It was over crowed with tents and the bathrooms were filthy. Maybe the staff should spend more time cleaning and doing the place up than stopping and searching everyone who comes in to make sure the don't have an extra child or pet. The play are (which was one of the reasons we picked it) had the swing cut down. I didn't find the staff to bad but would not go again
