Beautiful campsite, absolutely spotless showers, beautiful hot powerful showers, warm with lots of radiators, family showers all so that are 20p for 3minutes. Pitches were spotless, quiet location... Don't eat at the princess of the loch, terrible experience, co op is not far and lots of other really tasty restaurants close by.... Staff are an absolute 10 we enjoyed our stay even in cold February
It's a lovely site and I think that they have found the cheapest way to run a camping site. No wardens to be seen at all. Numberplate recognition barriers, find your own pitch, receive a welcome text and then you are pretty much on your own. Both nights here there were people talking loudly until late at night, why wouldn't they when there's nothing to stop them being as loud as they want. Showers are lovely, best ones I have been in. However, three second timer in shower so you have to literally stand with one hand pushing it. I understand why sites feel the need for a timer on the shower tap but three seconds.... Really!!! We paid for a serviced pitch but honestly, its a free for all and the pitch sizes are all small so you can just park where you want. It's a nice area for exploring but I won't be returning as it's clearly just about making as much money as possible without providing any wardens to provide vital information about the local area and a friendly face
Me and my family had the 4 bedroom lodge booked to stay over the Christmas period. We were so delighted with our stay and warm welcome! within walking distance of the local town, lodge was so clean and had everything we needed, was decorated lovely with lights on the outside for the festive period and Christmas tree would highly recommend and will be visiting again.
Really good site. Well laid out, pitches level, very clean. Toilets were spotless, showers too. Within walking distance of the Lomond Shores which has shops and cafes, as well as boat trips and watersports. There's also a pub next door, a McDonald's very close and other pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Only mild complaints would be proximity to the A82 - it is quite noisy - and the irritating pop radio in the shower block. But nothing bad enough to knock off any stars. Would definitely come back.
Always love staying here! Close to everything. Stayed in large SPods and wigwams. Loved both. Facilities are great, Showers roasting which was great after climbing Ben Lomond! and great family rooms too. Looking forward to returning again soon!
While the site is well laid out and maintained it has a problem with traffic noise that regularly wakes me up around 5am. If you're used to traffic noise you might not notice it. We've been using this site for about 8 years summer and winter, primarily for convenience of visiting family in the area and at first we had our main holiday here. However our stays are becoming shorter due to the rising prices outweighing the sacrifice of putting up with the traffic noise that has always deterred us from 'sitting out' to relax on site. As we did all the 'touristy' things in the early years it now works out cheaper to stay elsewhere and travel in to visit family. You might want to look farther afield if you don't need the convenience of this site's location, particularly if you're sensitive to traffic noise. It's functional location is second to none and it is a well run site offering options of static caravans, log cabins, pods and tourers. It's an attractive site with good access to the Loch Lomond area. Other sites within the immediate area either suffer the same traffic noise or are not as convenient for exploring the area. It's probably a good site for short stays but in my view it's now too expensive to compensate for the traffic noise for longer stays or if you simply want peace and quiet as opposed to visiting the local attractions. Restrooms: The facilities are well maintained and kept clean complimenting the overall tidiness of the site. Dog-friendliness: It is dog friendly but dog walking is off site. Turn right out of the gate and walk to the road on the other side of the Queen Of the Loch pub opposite called Ben Lomond Way. Take the footpath left toward Loch Lomond Shores shopping centre. About 300 yds along there's a gate into a small wood approx 5mins from site that leads to a popular walk area on the banks of the River Leven. Or drive to Balloch Country Park approx 5 mins.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here back in September. The site has a peasceful relaxing feeling. The town of Balloch and the Country park are within walking distance. Also much to my husbands annoyance there is a shopping outlet centre nearby also.
We arrived on 14th October for 3 nights in our Campervan, lovely staff at reception they were really helpful campsite was spotless, free WiFi, we were able to pick our own pitch in our allocated green zone which I like toilets were very clean and modern currently cleaned twice a day. The site is a stone throw away from Lomond shores and Alexandria. We would happily recommend this site and we can't wait to return
Have stopped here quite a few times over the years. Always provides a happy and comfortable stay. We'll equipped site with lovely staff.
Really well positioned at Loch Lomond, easy walk to Balloch Towns bars and resteraunts, our first time towing a Caravan and arrived in the pitch black and rain so didn't see much, following day revealed ground works in the process to enhance the site and staticlodges, shower block was immaculately clean and modern. looks to be a great site to tour the area in better weather, will be back in the summer..
