Self-guided tour of the former slate mine. Terrace garden and woodland walk with faery and dragon statues to count along the way. Great place to visit with the family. Captured the imagination of the smaller members of the family with the magic of fairies and Tinkerbell, our little girl believes that she saw Tinkerbell flitting around one of the lakes. Educational and taught all members of the family a bit about mining. Quite a few steps and uneven paths so not ideal for people who struggle with mobility. Hoping to go back at a different time of year to see the gardens and woodland walk green and in bloom and also to feel the temperature difference of the caverns from the outside.

Interesting caverns, if small. Lovely little walk through the woodlands. Beautiful in May: bluebells & rhodedendrons in bloom. Not suited for dog walkers or wheelchairs.

Really enjoyed it, certainly different from what I expected. Quite educational reading as you walk around. It is small though inside! Much smaller than you might think. Not been to a concert here but it looks like it would be amazing. The woodland walk is nice but very muddy, don't forget your wellies!

Really enjoyed this visit. Very interesting to see how people worked and what conditions. Also the garden is a good walk. They have different fairies and wooden items within the grounds. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Been there on three occasions. Very educational place. Each time I’ve been there has been at the beginning of April and every time it felt freezing. The all year round temperature is 10 degrees. You do need to wrap up warm if you go, but I do recommend a visit.
