This hotel is classified as a 4-star hotel. However, this is a good 2-star or an acceptable 3-star hotel at best. The lobby was fine even if we were questioned if we were guests multiple times when using it and the bed was comfortable… but we did have several issues. Firstly, the only window in our room opened onto a trash alley where garbage trucks routinely emptied dumpsters loudly starting at 6am daily. The smoking area was also in this alley, conveniently right below our window. In the room, the shower hot water was extremely inconsistent- even when we did have hot water, it was clearly cycling between tepid and warm. They also hid the second towel in the closet which we didn’t figure out until stopping by the front desk to ask where it was and didn’t apologize, but rather acted like this was obvious. Finally, be aware that there was no mini fridge in our room despite it being a listed amenity. There was space for one…but nothing in that space which actually felt worse than no space at all . 2-star experience. We also were told that we couldn’t quietly consume outside food at any of the many tables in the lobby and were requested to eat it in our room, which I guess is fair? But it didn’t make for a good experience. No one was mean but no one was friendly either- we felt like we were being questioned the whole time. Super odd and a-ok for a 2-star, but not a 4-star hotel. The cleaning lady was super sweet though- many kudos to her. All in all, this is not a 4-star experience :/ Rooms: The hot water in the shower was extremely in consistent and no conditioner was provided. Also there was space for a mini fridge but none was provided. Also, I’m pretty sure I took that exact model of tv to university in 2009. Again, not a four-star experience. Nearby activities: Camden Market is literally a 20 second walk away which seems convenient but dang is it loud. I’m so glad we weren’t staying here on a weekend… Walkability: 10/10 for walkability. The tube station is 5 min away and Camden Market is 20 seconds away.
Very clean, no errors, a breath-taking outside view, large TV and comforting amount space. I definitely recommend going to this outstanding place! I have lots of privacy and there are no noises from any other rooms. Rooms: A very spacious amount for a room which is extending its excellence. Food & drinks: They also provide complimentary snacks and a refrigerator with drinks which is amazing!
This is a really cute hotel. We wanted to stay in this area at a relatively affordable place and found Holiday Inn. The lobby is wonderful and we retreated there when it got too cold to stay outside. The room was good, had a great view of the market. The market here is amazing, has a little bit of every type of food you could want. Definitely, recommend this location, would stay again .
Penthouse rooms have balcony looking over Camden Lock, Rooms were comfortable, air-conditioning was adjustable and room felt cool on hot days/nights. Bathroom clean and comfortable, bath and separate power shower cubicle was nice. Breakfasts were full of choice though less imaginative than some. Staff were very accommodating with warm welcome sustained through stay.
Thank you! Team Holiday Inn Camden Lock. You all made our stay a memorable one from reception team to Housekeeping and breakfast team. You all were amazing and welcoming. Thank you for your hospitality we will definitely be coming back and recommending Holiday inn camden locks to friends and family. Rooms: Spacious and cozy, comfortable beds and spacious bedroom and bathroom.
Good hotel in an ideal location for exploring Camden lock. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Amir and the breakfast team who went the extra mile and really pleased my kids with their attention and friendliness. Would certainly recommend for anyone travelling to the area.Rooms: 4/5
Bad rooms with bad smell, dirty, stained carpets, and get woken up at 8am to building site noises, even in one of the prison cell rooms. Massively overpriced. When confronted with issues, staff deny everything and refused cancellation. I've stayed twice and nothing good to say about it. Poor experience both times, although previous time, room didn't smell bad, just noisy, and this time, extract fan never seemed to turn off even with every switch in room turned off. It's about as good as a poor Travelodge on room front. I have no idea why it gets good reviews Rooms: Stained carpets, SD TVs, furniture that looks like falling apart, very far from clean. Dust collecting in various grates. Dirty spoons. Just nothing that gave confidence to drink anything from anything in the room Food & drinks: Asked at bar if they had any good whisky, got offered Jack Daniels?!?! Noteworthy details: Turns into a building site with noise of hammering and drilling from 8am.
The hotel is very old and needs to be renovated. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. At breakfast, everything is powder based or convenience food. Nothing is real not even the coffee beans displayed on top of the coffee machine. Don't let them fool you. The curtain in the room has holes in it, and the sink was clogged. Only the price is exceptional. This is their flagship hotel. I was so disappointed, especially for more than 300 euros per night. They didn't even offer us an alternative room after we consulted them. They just ignored us. On the last day, I felt horrible after the breakfast and had to fly home in very bad condition. Of course, I'm not sure if it was their food, but it just topped the experience. In my opinion, this hotel only deserves two or three stars, not four. They try to be polite british polite, but that's it. Ah, and they reply to some of the comments here with only the word "template " but actually forgot to insert their answer text. That summarizes it well for me.
Stayed for two days, I had booked an executive room and a standard room. The executive room was very spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking Camden market, although it can be quite loud when sitting on the balcony, the windows are double glazed so you don’t hear anything from outside when you shut all the windows. The staff there are absolutely lovely, great to have a chat with and are happy to help. Prerna definitely stood out to us. With a friendly smile and warm conversation, prerna always made us feel so welcome no matter what we are doing. Thank you to everyone for making this stay so lovely for us. Rooms: Both the executive and standard room are lovely. They have everything you need and just have a lovely environment. Nearby activities: Camden has so much to offer, I advise checking out the food market and the shops around it. Safety: All the windows and doors have locks, you feel super safe and I was not once worried about my safety, as a 5’2 woman this is often something I worry about. Food & drinks: Amazing food and very exotic.
Good location near Camden Market. Easy access to underground station. Issue with AC in room, mentioned twice to front desk, never resolved. Had a fan in room so it was bearable, if we would have been miserable I would have pushed the issue. Breakfast buffet good and service excellent. Our room was on the side of the canal/market so nice view but noisy in the evening. Rooms: Agree with some obvious wear, but clean. Issue with AC mentioned above.
