The Hampstead Guesthouse is a beautifully proportioned, free-standing Victorian Home built in 1873.
Hampstead Guesthouse is a free-standing, Victorian house, beautifully proportioned and lovingly cared for. Since it was built in 1873, it has been home to generations of families and a variety of interesting people, including the infamous Captain Roberts and the London Mozart Players. Since 1978 this has been my home and my children grew up here. Over the years, myself and my husband, Jim Conwell, have made extensive renovations, always using the existing character of the house as our inspiration. Modern amenities have been sensitively blended with an unusual collection of antique and hand-made furniture to create a uniquely beautiful interior where each room has its own character. Guests respond to the informal atmosphere here and many return, making the Hampstead Guesthouse their base in London. | | | | | | | HOME PHOTOS RATES BOOKING AREA DIRECTIONS CONTACT ABOUT US There is WIFI access throughout the house and garden and we have a laptop for guest use. These are complimentary services. We also have ‘pay-as-you-go’ mobile phones for guest use. In 1986 our neighbourhood Hampstead celebrated 1000 years of recorded history. Our house is built on the site of a pre-existing farmhouse. The original village can easily still be distinguished in Hampstead’s bustling High Street and small alleyways and its many beautiful old buildings. Nowadays, the High Street is lined with fashionable shops, street cafes and restaurants which attract people from all over London. Hampstead lies within Central London, only ten minutes tube ride from the Piccadilly Circus / Leicester Square area. From the Guesthouse, you can see - nearby - one of the largest areas of open land in London: Hampstead Heath. The Heath offers endless beautiful walks, breathtaking views over London and is a runners paradise with its hilly landscape. Year round, people swim in its ponds: only the very brave in winter!
"If you’re looking for something a little different, make a beeline for Annemarie van der Meer’s Hampstead Home." - Hotels of the Year - Which Hotel Guide.
“This is one of our favorite London escapes. Set on a quiet, tree-lined street within walking distance of Hampstead Heath and tons of restaurants, the Hampstead Village Guesthouse is ideal for those seeking a quieter London. It's not as remote as it sounds, though; a 15 minute Tube ride will get you to Leicester Square.” – Frommers.com
The special atmosphere at this double-fronted Victorian house, set on a quiet Hampstead street, means that guests return year after year.” –Time Out London
