Good boozer going through some renovation 2017-18. Excellent selection of bitters from landlords that appreciate a good pint. New chef building up the business in the kitchen. Bands occasionally play at weekends. 
Overall the Royal Oak deserves success under its new ownership.

Live music every week , all tastes catered for. Good food, plus pizza van and jerk chicken van on certain days in the week . Great beer on tap . Freindly staff . Worth a visit .

Good range of beers and other drinks, relaxed and friendly, vegan food options - all good. Could just do with more salad with the vegan burger. But great place with friendly and helpful people behind the bar.

We decided to arrive early and eat before the quiz.  My wife had the vegan sweet potato burger and I had the beer battered haloumi and chips. 

The sweet potato burger was a good choice but unfortunately for me the  heavy batter overpowered the taste and the texture of the haloumi.  I'm not a vegetarian so next time I eat here I'll grab the burger.

Whatever you eat, pair it with any of the real ales on offer as this pub keeps great beer! It's not a chain pub and is all the better for that.
